Lemonade Diet - Day 3 - Humpday to The Master Cleanse

If Wednesday is humpday of the work week, Day 3 is the humpday of the Lemonade Diet. Most people say day 2 and day 3 are the very worst for cravings. By day 4 your body has adapted to it’s new routine and is no longer expecting meals at the usual times and stuffed bellies of processed foods.

While this may be humpday for cravings, I don’t believe it is the same for the detox. Many people describe getting headaches, rashes, slight colds and runny noses starting day 4 and I believe this to be due to the expulsion of toxins in our bodies as they leave our system. Sick-In, Sick-Out. When we ingest toxins, we often have similar reactions - like a sneeze, or the stuffed nose, or even a temperature. All of those things are reactions to contaminants detected by our immune system.

Lemonade Diet - Day 2 to The Master Cleanse

The false bravado of day 1 often comes crashing down on day 2.

Lemonade Diet - Day 1 to The Master Cleanse

Well we are past the Ease-In (if you did one at all), and we are onto the main event - The Lemonade Diet. Whether you are a master cleanser in the true sense doing your 5th or even tenth master cleanse, or you are a rookie going at it for the first time, the first day of the Lemonade Diet is a mixed bag.

Usually you have a sense of excitement and adventure that gets you sufficiently motivated to make it through day 1 without too much trouble. On the other hand, many people hit feel the full impact of the desire to eat if not at breakfast, and still not at lunch - many of us get so busy that we often don’t eat until late in the day - then at dinner time the cravings hit hard. This is usually the time when we would gorge ourselves to make up for the whole day of no food. But this time you can’t do it.

Preparation is also key for the first day, especially if it is your first time. Some people prepare their juice the day before. I like my lemonade as fresh as possible. I prepare half of mine in the morning and the other half in the afternoon. The process of preparing and drinking the lemonade is always causing confusion, even though it is quite simple.

Congratulations on starting a wonderful experience. I am sure your first day will go well and get you psyched up for the hardest part of the cleanse - day 2 and day 3 (or so they say).

Ease-In Day 3 - Orange Juice to The Master Cleanse

Coming down off of solid foods we move into the orange juice portion of the Ease-In/Ease-Out process. In the Ease-In, this stage is not as important as during the Ease-Out. During the Ease-Out, the first day after the Lemonade, your stomach is used to the citrus juice every day. The orange juice, stripped still of most of the pulp is a nice transition into more complex juices and soups. The Ease-In however doesn’t have that issue, but I like the reverse process of the Ease-In because it helps train you to a new lifestyle. Even though it takes several days to establish a habit, the more you can try a lifestyle the more open you will be to it. You may not go to a Vegetarian diet, Vegan, Live food diet or even a prolonged or intermittent juice cleanse diet, but you will have experience with how your body feels when you are only feeding it live foods, or only drinking juices. You can understand you don’t need a steak to live, or have a full stomach to have abundant energy.

Ease-In Complete, The Lemonade Diet Begins.

So we are at the last day planned for the Group Master Cleanse Experience. While this stage of The Master Cleanse was optional, tomorrow is not.

Everyone who is still committed to the process and the group should be getting ready to start the Lemonade tomorrow. You should be posting every day at the 5 topic pages to be eligible for the gift certificates and the juicers.

I am still having trouble with some peoples passwords on the site, and with the numbers it has been hard to get everything done. Never fear though, you don’t need to log into to post your experiences. Just go to the pages listed at http://themastercleanse.org/my-experience - you can post your comments about your master cleanse experience at the bottom of the page.

Be sure to subscribe to the RSS feed to get updates (http://feeds.feedburner.com/CommentsForTheMasterCleanse)

You can track updates at Twitter as well (http://twitter.com/master_cleanse)

I have added a new feature to view comments by user. In the sidebar look top commenters towards the bottom. Right now I have it set to show the top 10, but I will change that to show the top 25. Out of the 174 people participating I am hoping to have 25 complete the process AND submit their experiences everyday. By clicking the name of the user, you will see a page that shows each of the uses comments. This is a great way to keep track of users you particularly like to read from. For example, here is all the post from LuckyGirl (http://themastercleanse.org/members/?stats_author=LuckyGirl)

Congrats to everyone again, and keep the posts coming. We have had nearly 200 comments posted helping people understand their experiences in the last 3 days.

Ease-In Day 2 - Juicing and Soups to The Master Cleanse

Day 2 of the optional Ease-In starts removing solid foods from our diet. Again, the Ease-In is just are reversal of the Ease-Out which follows the Lemonade in the whole process of The Master Cleanse. Juicing fruits and vegetables is such a great way to get the value of food directly and easily. Since we there is no chewing, the food is almost already to be digested directly into the blood.

Soups are obviously cooked and therefore could be stripped of many of the nutrients but the same principal holds true. The liquid broth makes it quick to digest. There are many vegetable only soup recipes available. Look for the page coming soon with recipes for soups and juices.

Ease-In Day 1 - Salads and Fruits to The Master Cleanse

So we have begun this journey together on this new day of this new year. Let’s take the opportunity to share our experiences in a way that encourages not only ourselves through the support of others, but as important to encourage others with our own support. Look to give just a little more than you take from this experience. Let’s take the opportunity in what seems like a self-centered experience and tanscend into a social benefit.

The process of the Ease-In is one that I have come to rely on. It is simply a mirror of the process of breaking the cleanse, or what I call the Ease-out. By slowly approaching the Lemonade diet (the main event of The Master Cleanse - the fasting days consuming only the lemonade), you can not only prepare psychologically and physically for the upcoming challenge, but you can also begin to train yourself for what should be a life-long change in your diet - whole grains, no processed foods, fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds.

Head over to the topic pages to post your experience today by midnight (12:00/24:00 EST). If you are not participating, or doing the cleanse but not registered, you call also post your comments and questions.

If you are registered, remember to post at least 100 words on each topic. Please begin each post with a Title including the day. For example:

<!– Day 1 –>

<!– Day 1 - Starting to Ease-In –>

<!– Day 1 - Here we go and I am so excited –>

Good luck everyone! Have fun and happy New Year.
