Cabbage Soup Diet for Weight Loss The Cabbage Soup Diet is a relatively new diet craze that continues to gain popularity. The diet consists of an “extreme” diet, and should only be used for 7 days. The Cabbage Soup Diet is used as a starting place for a more long term diet. It is not healthy to use the Cabbage Soup Diet for more than 7 days, as you don’t get all the nutrients your body needs. This diet is often used by people to prepare for a special event, or kick-start a long term diet and exercise regimen.

In order to live up to its full potential, the Cabbage Soup Diet MUST be followed exactly. Despite what the name suggests, the diet consists of more than just cabbage soup. There is a day to day plan that should be followed exactly, and each day has different instructions. Each day you are supposed to eat a big bowl of cabbage soup, so that is where the name comes from. Below you will find a step-by-step plan that you can follow to maximize the benefits of the Cabbage Soup Diet.

The Cabbage Soup Diet – Day by Day

Day one should consist of fruit, and only fruit. You can eat any types of fruit you want, except bananas. Your liquid consumption should be limited as well. You should drink water, cranberry juice, and sweetened teas.

Cabbage Soup Diet – Day two – Veggies

Day two consists of vegetables. You can eat any vegetable; raw, cooked, fresh – it doesn’t matter. If you have stuck to your diet, you can reward yourself with a tasty baked potato, even one with butter!

Cabbage Soup Diet – Day three – Mix up

On day three you will mix what you ate on day 1 and day two. You can eat any of the foods from the previous days, excluding the baked potato.

Cabbage Soup Diet – Day four – Sweets

Day four is designed to ease your desire for sweets. You can eat bananas and skim milk on this day.

Cabbage Soup Diet – Day five – Meat

Finally you can eat some MEAT! Day five consists of beef, chicken, or fish, as well as tomatoes. It is also important to drink plenty of water on this day, generally 6-8 cups.

Cabbage Soup Diet – Day six – Beef

Day six is another beef day! You can eat as much beef as you would like… even 2 or 3 steaks! You should also eat plenty of vegetables, preferably raw, but cooked works as well.

Cabbage Soup Diet – Day seven – Eat it all

Day seven consists of brown rice, fruit juice, and vegetables. You can eat as much as you want, and it is actually better to sort of gorge on this day.

If you follow the plan, you will see results within days. The cabbage soup diet works great and, unlike other diets, contains a wide variety of foods. Yes, it may get boring, but any real diet is boring. You cannot expect to lose weight while enjoying all your favorite foods! As I said, you need to eat cabbage soup on every day, or at least the majority of the days. You can find many different cabbage soup recipes online so you won’t be bored out of your mind.

Is there a best Cabbage Soup Diet?

There are many variations to the Cabbage Soup diet but the all have the same principles. Is there a best recipe for the cabbage soup? What are your favorites?
