Group Cleanse Support Topic: Detox and The Salt Water Flush (My Experience)

This page is a Support Topic Page for the Topic of Detox and The Salt Water Flush for our Master Cleanse Group Cleanse. Please check that page for details on our Quarterly Cleanses and our Individual Cleanses.

The Group Cleanse will not only give us the forum to support each other, doing The Master Cleanse together, but it also enables us to track our experiences by setting standards to the conversation. If we all just posted random thoughts we would get a lot less value from the comments. But if the comments are structured, and relevant by time and topic, we can gain even more insight, more quickly and more effectively. Therefore we ask participants to start and finish the Master Cleanse on the same dates.

This page is the place for participants in the The Master Cleanse Group Experience to post their daily entries. To post, simply leave a comment. You don’t have to be logged in to post. Please provide 100 words each day – don’t worry; that’s not that much. The paragraph below, for example, is 100 words.

Support Topic: Detox and The Salt Water Flush

The Salt Water Flush (SWF) might be the hardest part of the Master Cleanse, but it doesn’t have to be. It is essential to the cleanse because it facilitates the detox by flushing your system. What is working and what is not working. How are your movements? Are they successful? What do they look like? Are they getting lighter or darker? Are the becoming more frequent? Do you have other signs of detoxing, like breakouts or white tongue? The Master Cleanse is about Detox and daily eliminations are critical to the success of the cleanse. Is this Detox Diet successful so far?

Day 7 and feeling great! The Ease In is SUPER important, people! You can’t go from eating everything in sight to nothing…same goes for the Ease Out. You can’t go from eating nothing for 10 days to steak…your body will go into “shock” Lol. Day 2 is the hardest…headache, body ache, lethargic. Day 3 – TIRED and EMOTIONAL. Days 4 – 7, feel great. Super focused at work, positive attitude/outlook. Never hungry. Drink approximately 12-15 glasses per day, but in increments of 3 at a time in a sports bottle. Have lost 10 lbs. Things I’ve noticed:
BOWEL MOVEMENTS have pretty much become liquid, but that is to be expected.
TONGUE has a white coating and bad breath…eww
FLUSHED skin around my collarbone and neck, presumably from the high concentrate of vitamin C from all the lemons
Drinking the smoothmove tea is important!! I did the saltwater flush the first 3 days in a row and now do it every other day, as there is nothing left in my bowels anyway and it’s not my favorite…Lol
Anyway…Stick with it! But more importantly, DO IT RIGHT! The instructions are there for a REASON. If you fail, it’s because you didn’t follow them!

The Master Cleanse Day 3: I sometimes find myself repeating some things in the category before this one related to physical and weight loss, as if I can’t keep tract or something, so I may be repeating myself. Today I realized that I get a quick little stomach ache before I have to go into the bathroom, which is kind of a nice warning so I have time. The smooth move tea is great and works well! I have three bowel movements today and found the second one to be the most interesting! The sediment at the bottom of the toilet was black in color and appears to have some bubbling! Covering the whole top of the water was a light brown filmy substance that didn’t miss an inch of the surface. I was fascinated by this, and laugh to myself at the examination and attention I’ve been giving to my BMs…this part is fun! I started to get a white tongue around noon and it gave me this awful taste in my mouth, like metal. It took a lot of brushing to remove most of it, and I have never experienced anything like that before. I’m detoxing and I’m so excited!!!

Day 4. I haven’t had a solid movement since I started the cleanse which is very concerning. This is my first time doing the MC. My diet was awful prior to starting this so I’m wondering when all that waste will expose itself. I’ve definitely had very messy mornings followed by the SWF all four days. But by the third trip to the restroom, the substance is yellow liquid. It looks like urine. Please forgive the gross details but I want to ensure that my body is eliminating waste. Should I expect a solid movement at all while doing the cleanse?

The Master Cleanse Day 2: So today I have to admit, I am a bit apprehensive for trying the salt water flush, which I know will have amazing effects. I am deterred by it after having had four colon surgeries over six years ago in a one year span. I had to drink a small bottle of something ( fleet phosphate I think) that cleaned me out each time before surgery. I eventually despised drinking that stuff and the taste was so gross too, it was nauseating. It had me in the bathroom every five minutes for what felt like forever and was not fun at all! Ever since that gross salt water based drink I had to force down every time, I feel I am faced with the same feeling again with the salt water flush. However, I plan on trying it and I see the need for it as very beneficial! Tonight I will stick to the smooth move tea that seemed to work out for me this morning and see how I feel in the morning to take on the salt water flush! Wish me luck!

The Master Cleanse Day 1: I started my day off unprepared with all the ingredients to start the cleanse which it didn’t take me that long to gather before going to work. So I did not do the salt water cleanse this morning. As I am writing this I am enjoying the smooth move tea and so far I am enjoying the taste. I look forward to tomorrow morning, as today I have not eliminated any waste, which is not like me at all! I pay close attention to bowel movements, as I feel it’s important to know how often you have movements and what they look like, as it can tell a lot about your health and diet. Being a first timer with the cleanse, I am looking forward to start seeing things that will be different than the ordinary! Bring on the grossness, I’m ready!

    Lemonade – Day 1
This is my 5th time doing the master cleanse and the longer I stayed on it was 18 days. I found that it was easier for me to stay on it when doing the salt water flush, so on day one today, I decided to do the flush, without success. Was doing good for the first 1/2 quart, then pushed it through half of what was left and almost all the way done, I threw up the whole thing… That’s okay, I tried, will have to skip the flush

Master Cleanse End of day 10.. Yay! I made it! I made it! (insert happy dance here). The saltwater flush did not have an affect on me as the other days, it actually took longer for me to have a reaction. Also my BM was more water than anything solid but it was still very dark. I must say though that the salt water flush is the worst part of the whole cleanse to me trying to get it down in the morning has become a hassle. I am hardly able to drink it without gagging or looking at it with disgust and to keep it down is also a chore. I was considering extending my fast but the salt water flush would probably be the only thing that deter me from doing so. I wonder if there is anything else I could do instead of the saltwater flush.

Master cleanse end of day 9…I fell asleep on my my detox tea last night and ended up drinking it this morning at 4 am when I woke up. I waited a while before drinking my salt water flush because I know that it has to be consumed on an empty stomach. I didn’t notice much difference although I didn’t have as much gunk come out as I normally do. I wonder if that was because of the timing of the drink or if I’m really clean on the inside. I noticed that I still have a white coating on my tongue and I read somewhere that that is because of the toxins coming out of your body. I wonder how long it will take for me to have a pink moist tongue.

Master Cleanse end of day 8… I was in bit of a rush this morning to get to work so I didn’t get a chance to drink my saltwater flush first thing this morning, but I was so thirsty I downed a bottle of water and that seemed to activate the detox tea I drunk the night before. When I did have a bowel movement it was really green and mucusy, and smelled like sickness, I was sweating and feverish ew. I guess I had that reaction because any other time I would have the saltwater to push everything out but i didn’t this time. I finally got around to drinking my saltwater flush I’ve noticed that the warmer it is the easier it is to drink.
