Group Cleanse: General Instruction, Comments and Questions

This page is a General Instruction Page for our Master Cleanse Group Cleanse. Please check that page for details on our Quarterly Cleanses and our Individual Cleanses.

To learn more about the value of Group Cleansing, check out this report.

The Group Cleanse will not only give us the forum to support each other, doing The Master Cleanse together, but it also enables us to track our experiences by setting standards to the conversation. If we all just posted random thoughts we would get a lot less value from the comments. But if the comments are structured, and relevant by time and topic, we can gain even more insight, more quickly and more effectively. Therefore we ask participants to start and finish the Master Cleanse on the same dates.

Post your general comments and questions about The Master Cleanse

Use this page to post general comments and questions on The Master Cleanse Group Experience. The other pages are meant for the daily experiences of the registered users. I am sure that this is going to become hard to manage, but we’ll see how it goes. Maybe I will move any misplaced comments to this category.

Please feel free to comment on any other post that may be more specific to your question. Posts and Pages on this site become like forum categories in which discussions can take place. I really should publish a forum as well, maybe in the New Year. I am still looking for moderators, so if you are interested please leave a comment in response.

Your name and email will absolutely never be sold or provided to another source without your permission. Your questions and comments may be used in other parts of this site, or in compilations to be published elsewhere on this site, on other sites I give permission to, or other means of publication.

I’ve done the Master Cleanse before and really enjoyed it and I decided to do it again. I did a modified ease in for 2 days (Monday and Tuesday) and started the lemonade diet today (Wednesday). My husband was out of town so I figured it’s the perfect time to do it, but today he surprised me and came home early with a romantic dinner and red wine. It was a situation where I really couldn’t say no, so I just had a few bites of the dinner which was fish and half a glass of red wine. My question is, can I continue with the lemonade tomorrow like normal? Is my system going to be messed up?

Can you use grade A instead of grade B Maple Syrup? What is the difference?

Hi Sarah, the grade B has more nutrients and minerals.

    Ease-in Day 1
    Hi Erika,
If you try to do the SWF at night I would give it a two hour window or more to “flush.” I don’t know why it’s usually done in the morning, but I think there is a reason. Hopefully Mike or another advisor can respond with more helpful info. If you do try this at night, please let me know how it goes. I am also interested in trying this at night so I have time to work out in the morning before work.

For the maple syrup, I think you can find it online and order it that way. Go to a big supermarket’s website, maybe Trader Joe’s (where I get mine) or Whole Foods? Whole Foods, of course, will be more expensive. You can probably order it directly from this website, too! I would go that route. Good luck!

Hello! I am so excited to start the Winter 2014 cleanse with you all! I had a few questions:

Can you save the SWF for the night? I go to the gym early in the morning and would hate to have an accident!

If I didn’t want to do the SWF, can I just drink extra tea in replace of it?

GRADE B SYRUP!?! I live in Houston, TX and it seems NO ONE carries this. Grade A and the fake stuff, thats it. Is there any replacement for the syrup or a different grade to use?

    Thanks!

Pam, This might help. Here is what is happening to your body in the detox stage 3.

    Stage 3 (Day 8 to Day 15)

On the latter part of an extended fast, you can experience enhanced energy, clear-mindedness and feel better than you have felt since childhood. On the downside, old injuries may become irritated and painful. This is a result of the body’s increased ability to heal during fasting. If you had broken your arm 10 years before, there is scar tissue around the break. At the time of the break, the body’s ability to heal was directly related to lifestyle. If you lived on a junk-food diet, the body’s natural healing ability was compromised.

During fasting, the body’s healing process is at optimum efficiency. As the body scours for dead or damaged tissue, the lymphocytes enter the older, damaged tissue secreting substances to dissolve the damaged cells. These substances irritate the nerves in the surrounding region and cause a reoccurrence of aches from previously injured areas that may have disappeared years earlier. The pain is good as the body is completing the healing process. The muscles may become tight and sore due to toxin irritation. The legs can be the worst affected, as toxins accumulate in the legs. Cankers are common in this stage due to the excessive bacteria in the mouth. Daily gargling with salt and water will prevent or heal cankers.

Lemonade fast day 12 – Yes, I have gone longer because I didn’t really start feeling good until day 9. So now I am taking one day at a time and waiting for my tongue to quit being white! I have energy and am doing everything I need to do along with a lot of prayer and time with God. My main purpose of this fast is for spiritual enlightenment. My question is, has anyone experienced pain, bruise like sensation in their hips? I have larger hips ie saddle bags, and am wondering if it is something to do with all of the blood capillaries in the fat? I feel my blood is doing better, because of the cleanse, and am wondering if that increased circulation is helping my body and the result may be this slight pain. It is not unbearable, I have a hard time laying on my side due to the pain but otherwise I don’t notice it. I hope this is the appropriate spot for this and I did not find a way to search for past questions so I apologize in advance if I missed some obvious spot where I could have seen prior input regarding my question. Thank you for your help.

FOR THE FIRST 3 DAYS I RECEIVED A VERY INFORMATIVE, HELPFUL, ENCOURAGING EMAIL. I’ve not received one since and believed I was getting one daily. What happened? Can I receive again today, please? Thanks.

This is my second time doing the master cleanse- the first time I did it (A year ago) I lost 10 lb in 10 days, but I am currently on day 8 and have only lost 3 lb. I intend to do 14 days, but I’m pretty discouraged since I don’t feel like I’m losing any weight.

Any advice would be much appreciated :)

This might sound silly, but try not to focus on what you lose until after the cleanse. Once you have gone back to eating for a week or so, weigh yourself then. Much of what comes off during the cleanse is the food and waste that is in your system. I’m looking at this cleanse as a way to reset my body and mind. For me it will be about getting rid of the sugar addiction and eating smaller portions. For others it might be s step toward vegetarianism, or giving up caffiene. I know your post is older, but good luck anyway.
