Group Cleanse Support Topic: Psychological and Emotional Effects (My Experience)

This page is a Support Topic Page for The Psychological and Emotional Effects for our Master Cleanse Group Cleanse. Please check that page for details on our Quarterly Cleanses and our Individual Cleanses.
To learn more about the value of Group Cleansing, check out this report.

The Group Cleanse will not only give us the forum to support each other, doing The Master Cleanse together, but it also enables us to track our experiences by setting standards to the conversation. If we all just posted random thoughts we would get a lot less value from the comments. But if the comments are structured, and relevant by time and topic, we can gain even more insight, more quickly and more effectively. Therefore we ask participants to start and finish the Master Cleanse on the same dates.

This page is the place for participants in the The Master Cleanse Group Experience to post their daily entries. To post, simply leave a comment. You don’t have to be logged in to post. Please provide 100 words each day – don’t worry; that’s not that much. The paragraph below, for example, is 100 words.

What is going through your mind? We have thoughts that seem out of control when we are in our daily grind – many of these revolve around food. We may also feel stress that in turn causes us to eat, to have emotional reactions. Many people report feeling in more control while doing The Master Cleanse – alongside a sense of clarity. Do commercials about food drive you crazy? Are you more patient than ever?

If you are not participating, you can follow the post to get inspiration to try the cleanse or answer the most basic question: Is The Master Cleanse right for me?

Keep it simple, just talk in your own language about your daily experience. The more you are yourself, the more others will connect with you – and the more you can connect with what they are saying – which is what we want after all, a strong support network through a group experience.

If you haven’t yet, go ahead and register for the Group Cleanse to get our “Guided Cleanse Experience” email sequence timed to correspond with your registration and the important days as the come up during our scheduled group cleanses.

I’m really trying to do my due diligence by reading as much as possible about the experiences of others with the MC. One BIG thing of mine – is information. I’m about a month away from actually starting the group cleanse and reading comments and stories from others is really helping me feel prepared for what is to come…and come out haha. I’m actually making a concerted effort to drink more water, drink healthy herbal tea (Alfalfa) and use Boldo (tea) to start the de-tox process before starting the MC. I started drinking my teas last week and already feel a bit less bloated. This is my first baby step into the cleanse. I figure if I start to prepare my mind and body now – -it’s possible the physical shock won’t be as great. Although, the idea IS to shock your mind and body while on the cleanse, psychologically; I can tell myself that it’s not so bad because I’ve done some preliminary work on flushing out toxins more gently. I’m doing my best to lay the foundation for success.

My real motivation: I’m de-toxing in preparation for pregnancy. I want to make my body a “Green” environment, nice and cushy for a healthier baby. I tend to do better for others than myself; this time, a side effect for me will be a healthier body. It’s a win-win!

One recommendation I have already – pre-prepare….baby steps would be: start drinking more water ( I prefer tea; sans sugar). You will immediately start to feel a difference with even this small but necessary step.

Newbie here–I registered for the group cleanse in January 2013. I did try this cleanse about 5 years ago but failed because I didn’t really understand WHY I was doing it and it was the wrong timing and had no support. Last week a friend of mine recommended this site and I decided to try this again – this time – with proper preparation and support.

Another big mistake (or the part I didn’t get in the literature I read before) was the “flushing” part. I think that was the other key I was missing….thanks Mike for putting the information in an organized manner for people like me that love to read &:).

I am on day one of Master Cleanse. I kind of feel like having junk foods. But I am trying to resist my temptation as my friends have had excellent results. I hope I will be able to get successfully to the end. Praying that nothing should impede and make me lose confidence.

I am on day on of the mater clease. I only did day one of the ease in because I realized I had two holiday parties in 2 weeks. It is so hard already primarly the hunger pangs only stop when I am drinking the lemonade. I hope that will pass in a couple of days. I have a headache and do not feel like even cleaning the house. My timing seems to be off because it is the holiday season and I am about to start my period. But I know this is better now then never. In my life there is always a reason to celebrate and overindulging primarily on wine is a nightly occurance. I have just gotten into a bad habit. I just really get a lot of pleaseur from eating, drinking and being marry. I am 35 and used to be really athletic but have had diffulculty mantaining that because of injury and being busy. I feel at this point I have two choices to either get back into health and moderation or become old really fast. That is not a option.

    Ease-Out – Day 3 …

I love that I was capable of completing this right to the end and thank you to everyone who helped me along the way.

The Master Cleanse did everything it promised it would do for me and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

I will definitely be doing it again. I am going back to the UK at Christmas to see my family for the first time in 4 years since I moved to Australia and can imagine I shall be overindulging ever so slightly, whilst I am over there (My family are feeders!!!) Lol – There was a reason I reached 120kg back in the day.

This is the first time they shall be seeing me, since I lost my weight, so am certain that although I have given them access to a few photographs since, they probably still won’t recognise me :) – i’m looking forward to that, as I am very proud of myself also.

With this said, depending on the day we arrive home – I hope to be back in time for the Spring 2013 Group Cleanse. This is something I really want to get into the routine of doing every 3 months.

I have learnt that I don’t need anything other than natural, healthy produce to help me wake up in the mornings and feel like I can take on the world.

This has been an amazing journey and here’s to me becoming a ‘Novice’ Master Cleanser!!! ;)

    Take Care,
    Liz

Ease Out Day 3 – First time master cleanse – Psychological and Emotional.
I guess I was a little more under the weather than I had though. I woke up today at 3:57pm. That’s about 16 hours of sleep straight. I haven’t slept like that since I’d been partying. It’s hard to separate psychological, emotional, and physical when you aren’t feeling well. It certainly explains why I was a little bent out of shape with regards to my writing last night. I wanted to go to the farm women’s market this morning to get a chicken for my soup and I was supposed to go to my mom’s to help get the storm windows down and move furniture to the basement. None of those things happened and that’s a bummer. I’ll head to my mom’s tomorrow and get those things taken care of for her.

Ease Out Day 2 – First time master cleanse – Psychological and Emotional.
I had a great day, Full of energy and creativity. I took my niece to the park for a couple of hours, and I had the energy to follow her around, climb the jungle gym, take her down the slide, kick the ball, swing on the swing, be outgoing and relaxed in my own skin as I talked to the mothers of the other kids. I even made it back up the hill of insanity without stopping and without feeling as if I busted a lung on the hike up.

After that I went to pick my friend up from the hospital, and take him home, made the bed, fed him and put him down for a nap. Then off to Mom’s.

Put some things away around her house, and take her to my brother and sister-in-law’s to hang out with the kids.

Played Legos and drew on the wall, a grand time was had by all.

    Ease-Out – Day 2 …

Emotions everywhere today. I woke up in a brilliant mood again and full of positivity, I was so excited about having my soups and for the first time, I felt in control of everything.

My psychological feelings are the best they have ever been. I am more relaxed and more in tune with my body. I know exactly how my body is feeling and I have no pain (Other than on my face) anywhere in my body – This must be a first too.

Not one headache since when I started. I am a happier, healthier and more alive person.

It was only when my skin flared up, that things started going downhill.
It just really gets me down. I have proved that there must be something I am eating that triggers it. I will probably need to get an allergy test done, to eliminate things that way.

I shall be extremely careful with what I eat tomorrow and if there’s no luck… I may even be back on the Lemonade by the weekend :)
