Group Cleanse Support Topic: Social Support from Family and Friends

This page is a Support Topic Page for The Social Support from Family and FriendsĀ for our Master Cleanse Group Cleanse. Please check that page for details on our Quarterly Cleanses and our Individual Cleanses.

The Group Cleanse will not only give us the forum to support each other, doing The Master Cleanse together, but it also enables us to track our experiences by setting standards to the conversation. If we all just posted random thoughts we would get a lot less value from the comments. But if the comments are structured, and relevant by time and topic, we can gain even more insight, more quickly and more effectively. Therefore we ask participants to start and finish the Master Cleanse on the same dates.

This page is the place for participants in the The Master Cleanse Group Experience to post their daily entries. To post, simply leave a comment. You don’t have to be logged in to post. Please provide 100 words each day – don’t worry; that’s not that much. The paragraph below, for example, is 100 words.

We have probably all experienced the “What’s wrong with you?” look when telling friends or family that we are trying the Master Cleanse. And equally, most of us have at least one person in our life who supports us. The Lemonade Diet is difficult, and (dis)approval by our peers can make all the difference.

In fact, that is why I started this Master Cleanse Group Experience diary; we can support each other.

Let us know about the people and experiences you have each and every day. Who made fun of you? Who showed compassion? Who understood the cleansing, and who thought you were nuts?

If you are not participating, you can follow the post to get inspiration to try the cleanse or answer the most basic question: Is The Master Cleanse right for me?

Keep it simple, just talk in your own language about your daily experience. The more you are yourself, the more others will connect with you – and the more you can connect with what they are saying – which is what we want after all, a strong support network through a group experience.

If you haven’t yet, go ahead and register for the Group Cleanse to get our “Guided Cleanse Experience” email sequence timed to correspond with your registration and the important days as the come up during our scheduled group cleanses.

    Ease Out DAY 2 (Newbie) – I wanted to share with my MC friends that the baby, that I dedicated some fasting days to, is going home from the hospital today! What a strong boy. Nutrition was his life saver and I hope to change my diet well enough to make it mine. Everyone is used to me not eating that when my son saw me eating the broth he was like “are you supposed to eat that?” I’m glad he realized that me doing the MC was for my health, not just about me wanting to lose weight. He knows I have goals and that I am working toward them. Our family motto is “Never give up!”

    Ease Out DAY 1 (Newbie) – My husband says he is going to eat the same way I do from now on: living diet, proteins and less than 20 grams of carbs per day. We are going to eat this amount of carbs until we are 10 lbs. away from out goal weight – and then slowly start incorporating more carbs until our bodies stop losing weight, but not gain weight (than we will know how many carbs our bodies should have). We are looking up recipes like cloud breads, eggplant lasagna, and cauliflower ‘pizza/bread’ crusts. And lots and lots of fresh veggies!!! Because he has seen how hard I have worked he wants to jump on the bandwagon too. I am definitely not going to deprive our son of carbs but adding that many healthy veggies and foods will teach him a lot about nutrition too! My husband knows I am going to cleanse now a least twice a year and he is ok with that.

    EASE OUT – DAY 1 – NEWBIE ->

    Today I did tell someone I know about the Master Cleanse and my weight loss success and how my clothes are lose on me, and I found more energy the past few days…. but she just had a BLANK look on her face… like ok.. it all seems strange… or she was thinking I am strange… so no wonder I refrain from talking about choices I make that are towards optimal health… what is wrong with this society??? If I showed up with donuts… people would talk and be appreciative… If I brought chips, salsa, cheese dip much more words… but if I talk about juicing and cleansing people’s eyes seem to glaze over as if I am speaking a foreign language

      Definitely understand how that would make you fell that way. It’s funny, but true, what you say about the donuts! You did this for ‘you’…but I know you know that because “you did it girl!” Way To Go!

      I know! It drives me crazy. I did consult my doctor before starting, (the first time I did this, btw), and she was supportive and gave me the “go ahead.” So I tell them that and they back off. People want to think that it’s crazy and unhealthy to not eat. They have no idea about it and don’t want to know, for some weird reason. But then there are the ones that do, and they are precious to me. I love motivating people about it. I will do this twice a year for as long as I feel I want to. Maybe the rest of my life? Who knows. I just love how it makes me feel and “resets” everything. Like a new beginning…

    Hey, where is everyone?????… just got home a little before the snow storm… worked over 12hrs today… and so proud for staying true… and all the results… so who do I tell???… my children really don’t understand… so I was turning here to all of you… well… I hope everyone is finding there own little ways to celebrate (where food is NOT the reward)… I’m going to treat myself to going to bed earlier than midnight and read morsels from inspirational books before I drift to dreamy land.. then tomorrow I treat myself to ease out… and I will using grapefruit and grapes to ease out… so more on my ease out blogs tomorrow… well I really wanted to read everyone’s success stories… so I will just have to be patient to read the success stories the next few days… well wishes to everyone… we did it!!!

    Lemonade Diet DAY 10 (Newbie) – Wow. 10 days are over! Happy! For so many reasons. I feel good. I really do. I love the weight loss, and the challenge. I have really good support and have educated quite a few people about the MC. A couple friends of mine may do it with me next time. That feels good! I made new friends on the MC site and the MC community is really, really cool. I thoroughly enjoyed getting the emails of support and information. There are so many easy to follow videos and message boards on this site. I will definitely keep referring to this site. Awesome! I went to the grocery store today and bought all my fresh oranges, a small bottle of maple syrup for the O.J. and some veggies and salads for the broth and live food days, plus some. I’m set and looking forward to easing out. I am also promising myself and my text buddy to eat more live foods. My family will definitely reap the benefits as well!

    Lemonade Diet DAY 9 (Newbie) – I told two new people about my cleansing today. Once again neither one reacted too excitedly about it, either way. I think everyone is looking for a change so are more open to different ways to loose weight, etc. Once again neither one had heard of the master cleanse. Well, I am lucky to have found this website because I was just going to do the lemonade cleanse without sharing my progress with anyone. I have thoroughly enjoyed being able to share and read about what others are going through. I am definitely going to do this with a group again.

    LEMONADE DIET – DAY 9 – NEWBIE ->

    Well, thank you to everyone who has taken any morsel of time to read all, or portions, of any of my blogs on these diary pages… the journaling process has been as cleansing as the Master Cleanse itself… not sure how it has been for everyone else, but it has been one hour every evening just to reflect on what is happening with me internally, and externally, and then learn from the day, so I can grow.

    Well, I do owe our Winter Session blogging Community an apology… for not being so responsive to all the comments posted… I do value every morsel of every word I have read… but I have been so busy that I did not take time to reply… I subscribed to receive the email of the comments posted… every day I get the COMMENTS email and read the posts, as well as scrolling thru posts on the blog

    so I wish to thank everyone on the blog, POSTING on the blog, for being honest, courageous, and brave… its not easy to share with a group of strangers… its even more challenging to really look in the mirror and see ourselves physically and emotionally.. so I applaud everyone on our blog for being remarkable!… big E’s for EFFORT to everyone!

    Lemonade Diet DAY 8 (Newbie) – My text buddy (she is a friend that has moved 1,200 miles away and is going through major life changes so has been working out and dieting) helps me to remember to never give up. She keeps trying to better herself and so helps me get through my dieting day. She and her children are going to come stay with us this summer and I would love, LUV, to be able to show her my physical changes. I hope to be in better shape…and maybe even be jogging some by then. She is a ‘new’ runner, so I have a lot to learn from her. My family are my biggest supporters. I want to be able to keep up with my son. He too likes to run. I would love to be in marathons with him.
