Group Cleanse Support Topic: Social Support from Family and Friends

This page is a Support Topic Page for The Social Support from Family and FriendsĀ for our Master Cleanse Group Cleanse. Please check that page for details on our Quarterly Cleanses and our Individual Cleanses.

The Group Cleanse will not only give us the forum to support each other, doing The Master Cleanse together, but it also enables us to track our experiences by setting standards to the conversation. If we all just posted random thoughts we would get a lot less value from the comments. But if the comments are structured, and relevant by time and topic, we can gain even more insight, more quickly and more effectively. Therefore we ask participants to start and finish the Master Cleanse on the same dates.

This page is the place for participants in the The Master Cleanse Group Experience to post their daily entries. To post, simply leave a comment. You don’t have to be logged in to post. Please provide 100 words each day – don’t worry; that’s not that much. The paragraph below, for example, is 100 words.

We have probably all experienced the “What’s wrong with you?” look when telling friends or family that we are trying the Master Cleanse. And equally, most of us have at least one person in our life who supports us. The Lemonade Diet is difficult, and (dis)approval by our peers can make all the difference.

In fact, that is why I started this Master Cleanse Group Experience diary; we can support each other.

Let us know about the people and experiences you have each and every day. Who made fun of you? Who showed compassion? Who understood the cleansing, and who thought you were nuts?

If you are not participating, you can follow the post to get inspiration to try the cleanse or answer the most basic question: Is The Master Cleanse right for me?

Keep it simple, just talk in your own language about your daily experience. The more you are yourself, the more others will connect with you – and the more you can connect with what they are saying – which is what we want after all, a strong support network through a group experience.

If you haven’t yet, go ahead and register for the Group Cleanse to get our “Guided Cleanse Experience” email sequence timed to correspond with your registration and the important days as the come up during our scheduled group cleanses.

    MC Day 9

My sister has been with me all week…and she’s been very supportive and at the same time, going out to eat with friends and family was out of the question.

We’re planning on eating together on Sunday! Yahoooo.

It’s been fun sharing this experience with her and having her here.

    MC Day 8

The people in my life are aware of my commitment to the Master Cleanse and even though they do not have any interest in it, they are supportive of my participating in the program.

    MC Day 6

Yesterday I was around my family and it was easy to take along my lemonade drink and therefore not be tempted to eat anything.

My sister has been staying with me for a couple days and she has been very supportive.

And I’m enjoying the support from this website!

    MC Day 5

My sister came to visit today and she noticed how much weight I lost and noticed how committed I am to the program.

Knowing I was on the Master Cleanse she was very respectful of eating before she got to my house and honored my commitment to my health and well-being.

    MC Day 4

thanks Rebecca! It really makes it easy when I can be home and not be around the smells of cooked food.

Now that were at Day 4…it gets easier even around the smells. Especially when I’m feeling the amazing results.

Thank Goodness for being able to put the ‘TV” on “PAUSE”…SO MANY FOOD
COMMERCIALS! I either tape my shows and fast forward so I’m not tempted by
    them!

LEMONADE DIET – DAY 3 – NEWBIE VETERAN -> Well, I do not sit around waiting for support to happen for me… I’ve always been an independent, and on my own… so my world of support shows up, when I reach out… so during the 3 EASE IN DAYS I participated in a heavy duty seminar where releasing negative thoughts and negative emotions and old patterns of behavior was a big part of the seminar… so I made new friends… and one gal and I are going to a business meeting together the night of Day 4.. I told her I am cleansing … and she supporting me by meeting her 1st at her house… so we can just relax and she can eat what she wants, and I can sip my lemonade.. .then we go the business meeting after all the social hour food has been removed… so that’s great support

    MC Day 3

Have not been out and around people the first 3 days. It makes it easier not to be tempted to fall off the wagon.

Diana, I applaud you for doing what you need to do to stay committed! I know the 1st time I did MC in Sept 2013 I stayed home most of the time, but in January 2014, I was doing taxes and was working 12hr days and driving one hour one way, so 14-15hr days from home, and around people and food courts and temptations… but I just stayed true to myself, did not tell anyone what I was doing, and just kept drinking my lemonade, and going out to the parking lot and making next batches of fresh lemonade in my van… this gave me privacy…. and kept me away from the “funky” smells of the break room….

so congrats on staying committed to MC! and to yourself!!!!

LEMONADE DIET – DAY 2 – NEWBIE VETERAN -> a guy at work came up to me as i was fresh squeezing my organic lemons and said, ‘You’re making your lemonade! I see! Good for you!” This man at work does not now I am doing the Master Cleanse. He looks unhealthy to me, but I did not say anything. If anyone knows the famous Dave the Trucker, someone talked to him as using food for healing, and now he inspires others. So I realize I need to be community for others and support for them too. We are all one in this world! A lady at work said, “you are always here squeezing your lemons! I don’t have time to squeeze lemons!” I replied, “It does not take much time. And it’s true. It does not take that much time.

Day 2 – Tues 7/15 – I was gone from home from 6am to midnight — also, there has been a series of rain storms in our area and flash flood warnings and high winds… so our internet service was down… and I only have internet on my pc, not my cell phone… so I am committed to the journaling… just had to wait to early morning to post Day 2 because of all the technical difficulties
