Group Cleanse Support Topic: Social Support from Family and Friends

This page is a Support Topic Page for The Social Support from Family and FriendsĀ for our Master Cleanse Group Cleanse. Please check that page for details on our Quarterly Cleanses and our Individual Cleanses.

The Group Cleanse will not only give us the forum to support each other, doing The Master Cleanse together, but it also enables us to track our experiences by setting standards to the conversation. If we all just posted random thoughts we would get a lot less value from the comments. But if the comments are structured, and relevant by time and topic, we can gain even more insight, more quickly and more effectively. Therefore we ask participants to start and finish the Master Cleanse on the same dates.

This page is the place for participants in the The Master Cleanse Group Experience to post their daily entries. To post, simply leave a comment. You don’t have to be logged in to post. Please provide 100 words each day – don’t worry; that’s not that much. The paragraph below, for example, is 100 words.

We have probably all experienced the “What’s wrong with you?” look when telling friends or family that we are trying the Master Cleanse. And equally, most of us have at least one person in our life who supports us. The Lemonade Diet is difficult, and (dis)approval by our peers can make all the difference.

In fact, that is why I started this Master Cleanse Group Experience diary; we can support each other.

Let us know about the people and experiences you have each and every day. Who made fun of you? Who showed compassion? Who understood the cleansing, and who thought you were nuts?

If you are not participating, you can follow the post to get inspiration to try the cleanse or answer the most basic question: Is The Master Cleanse right for me?

Keep it simple, just talk in your own language about your daily experience. The more you are yourself, the more others will connect with you – and the more you can connect with what they are saying – which is what we want after all, a strong support network through a group experience.

If you haven’t yet, go ahead and register for the Group Cleanse to get our “Guided Cleanse Experience” email sequence timed to correspond with your registration and the important days as the come up during our scheduled group cleanses.

The Master Cleanse Day 6…I’m realizing that although support would be nice it’s not necessary if you’re doing something better for life and health most people are result people any that’s why it is so important to get through this cleanse myself and document my results myself. I’ll let everyone know what I did when I step out looking great, even though I know I will still receive negative comments from fat unhealthy people because they can’t or won’t do it, throwing “facts” at me like they have their medical licenses. With that being said I really can’t wait for my day 7 email in the morning nice way to start a Sunday, letting me know what to expect sort of and a reminder of how far I’ve come and how little I have left.

Mater Cleanse conclusion of day 5…I am still in alone but I’m ok because I still have daughters there for me. Today my daughter had a fall carnival and they had the most delicious food and I wanted to try some of it an my willpower was faltering everywhere I looked and smelled (which is heightened) the was food that I loved, but my daughter kept me strong she said, “Mama you have a few days to go if you give in for this food you will be very disappointed in yourself.” I must admit she was right we finally left and felt very proud of myself it gave me hopes for the future when I get back on my regular eating schedule that will be able to turn down some of those goodies that I don’t necessarily need. I wish I had more support and I miss the daily email that i got on days 1-4 but I’ll soon see it again and and it will symbolize how far I’ve come and how little I have left.

Master cleanse day 4…I am still my own support system which is okay because I am an introvert anyway. I am currently reading the master cleanse book by Stanley Burroughs and that is pretty supportive. I love reading about all the positive things that I could possibly experience If I follow this cleanse to a “T”. I’m also receiving motivation by how much better I’m feeling and looking already so I can imagine what day ten brings. I also know the benefits of fasting and the way I see it our bodies work 365 days a year so why not appreciate it by giving it a little rest.

Master cleanse day 3…I receive a lot of support from the members of the group that is doing this cleanse. I also receive a lot of support from other sites such as Facebook and other websites. I like to hear about other people experiences whether they are at the level as me or have surpassed the level that I am on now. I also enjoy getting the emails in the morning, when I wake up I’m like, “yeah someone’s counting on me.” I am sad that I won’t be getting one until day seven. I hope to get through this cleanse and hopefully be an inspiration to someone else that will do this cleanse in the future. Also being able to document my experiences serves as a motivating force as well.

I never tell ANYONE that I’m on the master cleanse. I do not want to hear the negative vibes. It’s funny because they have such strong opinions about it but also have never done it. Why would I listen to them? When they spout off It always makes me doubt myself so I’ve learned to just be quiet. Like a duck smooth on top and paddling like hell underneath.

Social support is very small, I can’t really tell anyone because I feel as though they wouldn’t understand. Plus I like to see the outcome of anything new that I try before I try to explain it to someone, If it turns out great I’ll announce it from the rooftops but if it turns out bad I’ll keep it to myself and chalk it up to experience. My daughter is my greatest supporter I told her that I lost 5 pounds in one day. She said, “Wow mom that’s great but scary!” lol…but so far I haven’t felt like giving up.

I don’t have a lot of support from friends and family. I’ve told 2 people, a lady at my job and my daughter. The lady at my job had the typical response a person has that doesn’t understand the whys and what fors. I told my daughter but since she is used to fasting with me once a year and know the benefits of fasting she was really supportive. I get a lot of support from this group and I am so happy that found it. It feels good to log on and see someone else at the same stage as me or someone who has completed the flush, which is great inspiration. You don’t even have to log on here you can log on to the other social websites that I’m on anyway and receive some quick support.

Master cleanse Lead in day 1- I have not told any of my family including my husband about starting this diet. I am doing this for me and I don’t need any negative nay Sayers or negative opinions. I am positive that I can do this. If I feel that my own health is being affected than I will quit or modify the cleanse for myself and my own needs. At this time I don’t feel like I need anyone’s support but my own. As I prove to myself that I CAN do this I will let them in on my little secret but not until then. My resolve is strong so I want to keep it that way for now. If you guys have the upfront support? I think that is fantastic. It always helps when some one doesn’t eat a “food trigger” in front of you!!!!!! Even smelling food that is your favorite can derail the whole frigging thing.

    MC Day 10

Even though the people I was around didn’t have any interest in “detoxing” they were supportive of my commitment.

And having this group of people made it more inviting. Knowing there were others making the same commitment and noting their results.

    Thank you all.
