Group Cleanse Support Topic: Social Support from Family and Friends

This page is a Support Topic Page for The Social Support from Family and FriendsĀ for our Master Cleanse Group Cleanse. Please check that page for details on our Quarterly Cleanses and our Individual Cleanses.

The Group Cleanse will not only give us the forum to support each other, doing The Master Cleanse together, but it also enables us to track our experiences by setting standards to the conversation. If we all just posted random thoughts we would get a lot less value from the comments. But if the comments are structured, and relevant by time and topic, we can gain even more insight, more quickly and more effectively. Therefore we ask participants to start and finish the Master Cleanse on the same dates.

This page is the place for participants in the The Master Cleanse Group Experience to post their daily entries. To post, simply leave a comment. You don’t have to be logged in to post. Please provide 100 words each day – don’t worry; that’s not that much. The paragraph below, for example, is 100 words.

We have probably all experienced the “What’s wrong with you?” look when telling friends or family that we are trying the Master Cleanse. And equally, most of us have at least one person in our life who supports us. The Lemonade Diet is difficult, and (dis)approval by our peers can make all the difference.

In fact, that is why I started this Master Cleanse Group Experience diary; we can support each other.

Let us know about the people and experiences you have each and every day. Who made fun of you? Who showed compassion? Who understood the cleansing, and who thought you were nuts?

If you are not participating, you can follow the post to get inspiration to try the cleanse or answer the most basic question: Is The Master Cleanse right for me?

Keep it simple, just talk in your own language about your daily experience. The more you are yourself, the more others will connect with you – and the more you can connect with what they are saying – which is what we want after all, a strong support network through a group experience.

If you haven’t yet, go ahead and register for the Group Cleanse to get our “Guided Cleanse Experience” email sequence timed to correspond with your registration and the important days as the come up during our scheduled group cleanses.

Master Cleanse Day 1 – So I finally got to telling my boyfriend that this cleanse may make me feverish sick especially in the first three days. He was so understanding. We were supposed to go out shopping but instead he was fine with me staying home and taking our baby and my older daughter shopping. Which was a really good thing since less than an hour before I left I had some acute pains in my back. A bath helped me relax. It could be my kidneys going through detox, it could be radiating heartburn from the cayenne, or it could be radiating period cramps, I’ve had that before. Yes Flo had to come visit me during my mater cleanse. Just what I need!

The Masted Cleanse Day 3: Today I felt I started to inspire people with the master cleanse and my sticking with it. My coworkers know of my sometimes poor eating habits with coffee and candy and now they see me doing a complete turn around. When I talked of doing this cleanse last week they thought I was perhaps crazy, maybe I wouldn’t or couldn’t do it, or that it was overall absurd to do in general. I just let people think what they want, I am completely unaffected and I’ll just have to show them how it’s done, haha. So today felt exactly like that…I’m doing it, sticking with it, and feeling great and the questions and curiously finally started to arise. This was great motivation for myself and for them! I’m seeing people’s interest and two of my coworkers said they thought they could do it and they would think about it. One person sent me a thing on the master cleanse telling me I was right all along after reading up for themselves on the subject. I love watching people’s wheels turning in their minds, and I’ll say and do anything to make people think outside the box all the time…today was one of those days, a success!

Ease-in Day 3 – So tomorrow will be day 1 of TMC for me. I been very quiet about my plans. My family has been supportive in helping me gather my ingredients. I’m going to try to keep things hush hush at work as best I can. Thankfully I only work part-time in the evenings so my flushes will be long over before going in and I just need to pack 2 glasses of lemonade and a little cayenne in my purse to get me through my shifts.

The Master Cleanse Day 2: Today I felt better amongst my co workers, who are the people I see the most during the week, otherwise not many of my friends know I am doing the cleanse right now. I tend to be quiet while in the process of change and come out elated with joy at the end and will tell everyone of my accomplishments after the fact. As I write this I wonder if there’s a reason I do this? I am not a boastful person but when it comes to health and taking care of your body and I am no afraid to say what I feel is right or how to go about it. I KNOW the master cleanse is one of the best cleansing programs out there, and it’s so easy too! I found my coworkers felt bad for mentioning food or eating in front of me today, but I assured them I was perfectly fine and there was no need for anything like that. Today I felt supported, unlike yesterday which was nice. If you have a strong mind there is no one that can break it, and if someone tries, they’re only hurting themselves!

Master Cleanse Day 1: I walked into work today without my usual cup of coffee and right way the chatter began… “Why aren’t you drinking coffee, are you finally starting that cleanse? What are you eating? No food for ten days, are you nuts? What are you going to do Friday when we all order breakfast out like we always do? You’re gonna crash”! Hey thanks everyone for the support!!! Little do they know they’re lack of confidence in me is my tool to succeed! So I secretly thank them all in my mind, and I plan on giving them something even better to talk about for when I’m done and perhaps for years to come! So for me, I use others negativity and turn it into positivity on my end! My husband is so supportive on the other hand. He encourages me even to the point he thought about giving it a try himself starting tomorrow, now that’s support, we’ll see where that goes! I in turn encourage and support him in the fact he can do it! Turning any negative into a positive is always going to be your best bet and your best tool in all areas of your life to succeed, especially here!

I started on the same day as you, Michelle. Yesterday seemed to go ok, but today feels like hell. I have a splitting headache. I’m guessing withdrawals from caffeine & sugar? And I feel panicky inside, like I’ll die of hunger. The thing is I’m not hungry, so let me clarify. Having an empty stomach is what bothers me. Is this who I thought I was? That full stomach? Where am I? I feel emotional, and I’m just trying to observe myself. I also feel nausea. Today I feel like I’m going to throw up. I just keep concentrating on my breathing & telling myself the nausea will pass. Anyone know why I feel nausea? That’s difficult. Tonight I will do the salt water flush for the first time. A little bit scared, especially since I feel like throwing up. Those who have finished and left notes here- that’s inspiring. 10 days feels like a year away right now. A huge benefit, I am certainly feeling a stronger spiritual connection to everything and everyone.

Starting the cleanse tomorrow. I did not Ease in. I went to Whole Foods and spent 50 bucks on the ingredients as well as the bottles and the manual juicer. I weight 278.5 pounds after a few month of the delivery of my daughter. I hope that i have the same drive as the rest of you. Thanks for all of the tips!

Master Cleanse end of day 10…Is this day real? Did I really make it to day 10? Somebody pinch me please. I made it through this whole cleanse based on my own self motivation. I was reading my email this morning and one part that stuck out at me was when it said that you know that can make it through anything if I can make it though 10 days of not eating. I feel like Superwoman. I did not have much motivation or support during this cleanse but I know that when you prepare your mind to take own something difficult that others would find strange and unusual sometimes you have to goo at it alone even if you start out with someone else.I have my daughters as my motivation, in fact when I told my daughter that today was the last day she said, “Mama I think you should keep going until you can’t go anymore or at least until the end of this week.” You can’t get any better than that.

Master Cleanse end of day 9…I had an amazing experience today, a lady that I told about the cleanse last week before I actually started the cleanse , came up to me today and asked me how the cleanse was going for me. I was surprised 1) because I had forgotten that I mentioned it to her and 2) she was keeping up with my time limit. I told her it was going great and that my last day was tomorrow, she said yeah I knew you time was ending soon. I told her I lost almost 13 pounds she was shocked. It felt good to talk to someone about all the positive things that I was feeling as well as the negatives. I think we may have a future cleanser.

Master cleanse end of day 8..Still in this alone but I prefer it that way. I am a pretty strong person and when I put my mind to something I can get through based on pure determination alone. I am motivated to keep going by how great I feel and how my clothes are fitting comfortably on my body. I receive motivation by my boot camp teacher saying, “Wow what are you doing? That is great, keep it up!” I receive motivation/support by knowing that a lot of people would’ve given up by now. I feel great not being a slave to food, I feel almost…superhuman.

Master Cleanse end of day 7… I received my email this morning and that helped a lot. I also finished reading Stanley Burroughs’ master cleanse book today and I received a lot of motivation form it. The book helped me see the purpose of doing the master cleanse. I had my own reasons but now I see that we must take care of our health ourselves. I also still check in on Facebook and see how people are doing although there are not a lot of people posting their experiences. I also wish people would come back and post their experiences on here as well good or not as expected. I will keep posting hopefully someone will read this one day and be inspired, motivated, or happy to have had someone share their experience.

      Hi there,

I am really encouraged by reading your blog posts. I am on day 1 of the ease in, and am pretty much decided to do this. It is all very new to me though, only very recently heard of it.
How does a person sign up for the daily emails?
      Thanks,
      Cyntia
