Group Cleanse Support Topic: Social Support from Family and Friends

This page is a Support Topic Page for The Social Support from Family and FriendsĀ for our Master Cleanse Group Cleanse. Please check that page for details on our Quarterly Cleanses and our Individual Cleanses.

The Group Cleanse will not only give us the forum to support each other, doing The Master Cleanse together, but it also enables us to track our experiences by setting standards to the conversation. If we all just posted random thoughts we would get a lot less value from the comments. But if the comments are structured, and relevant by time and topic, we can gain even more insight, more quickly and more effectively. Therefore we ask participants to start and finish the Master Cleanse on the same dates.

This page is the place for participants in the The Master Cleanse Group Experience to post their daily entries. To post, simply leave a comment. You don’t have to be logged in to post. Please provide 100 words each day – don’t worry; that’s not that much. The paragraph below, for example, is 100 words.

We have probably all experienced the “What’s wrong with you?” look when telling friends or family that we are trying the Master Cleanse. And equally, most of us have at least one person in our life who supports us. The Lemonade Diet is difficult, and (dis)approval by our peers can make all the difference.

In fact, that is why I started this Master Cleanse Group Experience diary; we can support each other.

Let us know about the people and experiences you have each and every day. Who made fun of you? Who showed compassion? Who understood the cleansing, and who thought you were nuts?

If you are not participating, you can follow the post to get inspiration to try the cleanse or answer the most basic question: Is The Master Cleanse right for me?

Keep it simple, just talk in your own language about your daily experience. The more you are yourself, the more others will connect with you – and the more you can connect with what they are saying – which is what we want after all, a strong support network through a group experience.

If you haven’t yet, go ahead and register for the Group Cleanse to get our “Guided Cleanse Experience” email sequence timed to correspond with your registration and the important days as the come up during our scheduled group cleanses.

I haven’t told many friends what I’m doing because I didn’t know how I would feel during the cleanse and didn’t want to have to justify myself, but I’ve told my friend at work because she put the idea into my head about salt cleansing when we were chatting, not ever having done any cleansing before so she was very intrigued when I told her about the master cleanse and she was naturally worried for me, she is being supportive and invited me for a peppermint tea this afternoon which was lovely.

This is my first day. I finally looked at the dates of the other posts. I didn’t know they were quite a few weeks ago. I hope someone out there has started the cleanse in October with me. I let a few friends know but none wanted to join me. The same girls began a weight loss challenge with me in the Spring but none of them stuck to it except me. I’ve lost some weight over the past few months but want to lose more, but my focus for this cleanse is to detox and get my digestion healthy again. I’ve been feeling more uncomfortable when I eat bad food and want to know how to live a different lifestyle that keeps me energetic and not deprived. My husband is supportive and says I can do it. He knows because we have done vegetable juicing (Mean Green) at least once a day for a week at a time.

Hi everyone, I have an important birthday lunch today, so tomorrow will be my Day 1. i’m excited to do this, I have done this cleanse in the past but only made it to Day 4! It’s extremely difficult so the support is always needed! Instead of coming of cleanse next Wednesday I will start my ease out on Friday! I may even go longer if I can. My goal is 2 weeks!

        Happy cleansing!!

Today is day 1 in the afternoon, I didn’t do the ease in, I was so inspired by events and reading in the last few weeks, that I just decided now is the time last night.
My last meal was yesterday at lunch. I had unseasoned, grilled chicken breast, kale, carrots, and tomatoes, with balsamic vinegar. I drank and herbal laxative tea at bedtime and this morning did the SWF, took about 10 minutes, it was a WOW experience….intense. I’ve had four drinks at this point and will have the remaining two after work. I found organic lemons and grade b syrup at the local health food grocery, as well as Tom Woloshyn’s book “the Complete Master Cleanse”. I’m really excited and grateful for the information shared here. I look forward to reading more from anyone also on this journey.
    thank you

Day 7. I didn’t think I could do this! And look here I am done with day 7. I am REALLY proud of myself. It’s not too hard to cook for everyone now and it is clicking right along. Now my Family knows what I’m up to and are very supportive.

It’s day 4 and Friday night. Need to find something to take my mind off of cheating. Normally I would be having many glasses of wine and bread and cheese. I’ve locked myself away in my room but boooooored. Nothing good on Netflix here in France. This weekend will be TOUGH!

Day 4. Kids are coming home tomorrow so I will start cooking again. (I’m NOT looking forward to that.) Back to work today was not as bad as I thought. My brain is a little fuzzy, but I am not telling anyone what I’m up too.

Day 2: made it!!! My friends and I got together and they all had chips and dip and homemade zucchini bread!!! They said they would gladly put it away so not to eat in front of me, but I felt strong and happy because I had lost three lbs. step mom still on with me, and husband is very supportive.

Day 3: nothing new. Didn’t see anyone except for my husband and children. They are all very supportive. My littles say, you can do it mom!

Day one!! My step mom started with me for mental support so I hope we can do it together! Feeling ok, kind of tired and ready for the day to be over.

Day Two. I lived! I haven’t told any one about it, I took three days off and sent the kids to camp for the week. Good thing to, I was sick as a dog yesterday. It feels luxurious to be able to sleep when ever I want. I still have a coffee headache, but can tell I made the right choice to do this.
