How To Do A Proper Candida Cleanse: Going Green

Research conducted by the Center for Microbial Innovation in Auckland, New Zealand, studied the relationship of metabolism and Candida proliferation and suggested that a certain diet must be established to treat the yeast infection. Once you decide to go on a Candida cleanse, you will need to get rid of any take-out foods, refined or processed foods and be prepared to spend a little time each day preparing and eating fresh and natural sources of food.

Processed foods generally contain plenty of additives, and are often calorie rich yet nutritionally depleted. Cutting back initially, and then stopping these foods and replacing them with vegetables and fruits is your starting point when doing a Candida cleanse.

Here is the first recipe:

Green Drink #1
(serves 2 people)


  • 4 organic celery stalks
  • 1 medium organic cucumber
  • 1 large organic apple (cored and sliced)
  • 1 cup of organic spinach (preferably fresh)
  • The juice from 1 organic lemon
  • The leaves from 1 sprig of organic parsley
  • The juice from 1 organic lime
  • ½ inch of fresh, organic ginger

Why should you be consuming a green drink, what are the reasons? There are many different reasons, and I’ll explain why these drinks can be so important to your Candida cleanse and to your overall health. They are rich in dietary fiber (12 gr) that will allow the beneficial bacteria in your digestive system to grow, crowding out any room for those nasty yeast cells to thrive. Green drinks are alkaline by nature and can help to discourage bad bacteria and yeasts from proliferating in your digestive system. This drink also provides you with healthy levels of the vitamins A, C and E, nutrients that keep your cells healthy and protect them from oxidative damage, helping your body fight any kind of an infection, even a yeast infection. Both of these his drinks contains little more than 200 calories, which allows you to consume them daily without the fear of gaining any weight. I really enjoy the fresh taste of these drinks, so why don’t you try them for yourself?

Here is the second recipe, you may find one or either suitable. Some people alternate them; others will find a preference for one.

Green Drink #2
(serves 3 to 4 people)

  • 2 cups of chopped organic spinach
  • 1 head of organic celery
  • 2 cups of chopped, organic cucumber
  • 1 teaspoon of organic ginger root
  • 2 chopped and cored organic apples
  • Juice of 1 organic lime
  • 1 bunch of organic parsley (use the leaves)
  • The juice from ½ of an organic lemon

A Few Additional Tips

It is best to consume herbal teas in addition to these recommended special green drinks, because it doesn’t make sense to drink one of these amazingly healthy drinks, and then to consume coffee or regular tea throughout the rest of the day. Your green tea should be made of natural green tea leaves, and for flavor you may want to add a little lemon juice and sweeten perhaps with a little stevia powder.

If you want to achieve the best with your cleanse, then I’d also recommend that you take a detox bath during in the evening at least twice to three times weekly. This special detox bath can include adding ten drops of pure lavender oil and 2 ½ Tablespoons of Epsom salts.
