Juice Recipes That Boost Your Energy

Juicing & Blending

Recently I realized that I have been treating my body like a dumpster behind the 7-11. I have ingested things that I am not entirely sure would have been considered food, much less good for me. I am what you would have a called a serial Dorito killer or chronic Cheetos abuser and I am not allowed within thirty feet of a Taco Bell.

Say NO to the junk food days and say YES to juicing

My activity and energy levels were at an abysmal low. My sedentary cubical jockey lifestyle did not lend itself to change either. I used to drive up to the apartment’s mailboxes and could not be bothered to carry the garbage down to the bins to save my life. I knew I had to clean up my act from the inside out and seriously needed to flush out the sledge of toxins and Cheetos dust. Forget about starting an exercise program. I had zero energy I was completely strung out on caffeine.

Juice Detox regiment

The beginning of the year I began to use a juice detox regimen. Sounds intimidating, doesn’t it? I had misgivings when I was introduced to the juicing world. I envisioned Jack Lalanne swimming across the Atlantic pulling a tugboat in his teeth after drinking a pureed concoction of green crazy. After doing some research of my own I realized that  juicing is a great way to clear my  whole system of impurities, jump start my energy, and help with overall health and wellness.

Boost your energy levels while on Juicing diet

Now,  I wasn’t completely sold on its benefits truth to be told. The body naturally cleanses itself as part of the regulatory process. Why mess with nature? I started juicing for several reasons. I knew that I needed help with eating right; pizza is not a food group. Also, I needed energy as I felt older and more tired beyond my years. I had a blender that I made killer strawberry daiquiris with why not put it to better use. By juicing I could introduce concentrated nutrition to my body that helps speed up the process repairing cells by incorporating cleansing agents found naturally in fruits and vegetables.

What you need to know about juicing

Here’s where I get a little preachy about the juice detoxification. The juice detox is not to be done on a prolonged basis. Usually a person would do the typical juice detox for in increments three days, five days, seven days and up to twenty one days. This not recommended for children, if you are taking prescribed medications, or if you are a person with compromised health i.e. diabetes, cancer or impaired immune functions. If you have any doubt it is best to talk to your doctor before you even attempt to try a detox.

Some people like to “juice fast”, basically drink nothing but the different juice recipes for a certain time period and water. There are many products like the Blueprint cleanse, programs and companies that cater to “juice fasting”. I for one like to eat still so I opted for the juice and eat approach. I am hyper conscience of what I intake. I decided to make a recipe for myself twice a day for three days.

Results of my juicing experiment – heath and vitality

Did I see results? You bet I did! Right off the bat my attitude and outlook on life improved. I found myself happier and uplifted. I had energy for days, I actually wanted to jog and walk to the mailbox. I virtually replaced my morning coffee with juice. I noticed my skin was clearer and healthier, I actually think my skin is better now than ever. Best of all I notice my stomach pooch was gone! Hallelujah!

My Favorite Juicing Recipes

Below are a few of my favorite recipes. Try them out and feel free to experiment with your own concoctions, be creative. Use a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables versus frozen or canned. Remove all skins and seeds then process through the blender or juicer.
