Support From Family and Friends
Share experiences about the support you get from family and friends
This page is the place for participants in the New Year’s Resolution Master Cleanse Experience to post their daily entries. To post, simply leave a comment. You don’t have to be logged in.
If you are not participating, you can still follow the posts – either for inspiration to try the cleanse or to answer the most basic question: Is The Master Cleanse right for me?
Keep it simple; just use your own language to describe your daily experience. The more you are yourself, the more others will connect with you and the more you can connect with them – which is what we are aiming for, after all: a strong support network via a group experience.
Please provide 100 words each day – don’t worry, that’s not that much. The next three short paragraphs are just over 100 words.
We have probably all experienced the “What’s wrong with you?” look when telling friends or family that we are trying the Master Cleanse. And equally, most of us have at least one person in our life who supports us. The Lemonade Diet is difficult, and (dis)approval by our peers can make all the difference.
In fact, that is why I started this Master Cleanse Group Experience diary; we can support each other.
Let us know about the people and experiences you have each and every day. Who made fun of you? Who showed compassion? Who understood the cleansing, and who thought you were nuts?
Make sure you get regular updates to the comments posted by participants of the Master Cleanse Group Experience. You can get updates by email or through an RSS feed reader by clicking here.

Hello everyone!
I have done the MC back in May and had lost 15lbs in 11 days. What was even sweeter, it took till November to gain it back, (I was eating like its going out of fashion!) LOL
Today I m on day 2 and my hunger is terribly irritating, however, I keep fantasizing myself with beautiful collar bones and a tiny little waist! I m 5.9″ and 167lbs. My dream weight is 130 lbs being that I m an actress and in all honesty I look terrible on camera right now, plus I hate the way I look!
I have been trying to do the MC since New Year’s day but I kept cheating. Yesterday was the first day I stayed “clean”.
A question I have is, if it is ok to do the cleanse for more than 10 days? Is there a limit to number of days?
Any advice on how to handle this tormenting hunger is greatly appreciated :-) Thank you all in advance for your support!

Congrats on making it past Day 2! Your hunger should subside once you make it to day 3 or 4. My tips are to keep taking liquids (your lemonade and lots of water) throughout the day, and to strain the pulp from your lemon juice to really strictly avoid any solids which will trigger hunger.
Of course you can go longer than 10 days. In fact, if you find yourself having an easy time on this cleanse, it’s definitely a good idea to extend it to 14, 21 or even 30 days. Some people even go for 40 or longer.
I can imagine how important weight and looks are in your profession and wish you lots of strength throughout this journey :)

Hi Anna! Thank you so much for your response. You have no You have no idea of how inspirational your it is!
Unfortunately I “folded”….I broke out of the MC because I got heartbroken and of course I run to the refrigerator for comfort (as usual when I m feeling sad). But after reading you encouraging response, I decided that I m going to start it again tomorrow regardless of sadness.
Also, thank you for the advice on the pulp. I ‘ve been putting all of it in the MC thinking it would help the hunger.
One more question…Is it ok to put more water in the Lemonade? I find the taste too “rich” and harder to drink when I follow the exact measurements.
Again, thank you for the support…it seems easier to stick to the MC when you have some support and it makes me believe that I can actually do it :-)

final day of ease out
It’s been a challenging experience this time around and I just wanted to take the time to thank everyone who offered words of support, encouragement and advice when they were most needed. And of course a very special thanks to you, Stella, for being such a rock of support throughout. I really don’t know when I’ll do another cleanse– hopefully this summer but I really can’t say for certain whether I’ll be up for it then. If and when I decided to go through this experience again, I hope it will go more smoothly than this one did. I shall miss posting here everyday :(

~ease out day 5~
Hi Zoe & welome!
Like yourself, I’m a healthy vegetarian who used the cleanse to get rid of those pesky extra pounds I put on during the holiday season. Your goals seem very realistic and I’m optimistic that you’ll reach them. I hope you’ll keep us posted.
My neighbour/ cleansing partner (who had a much easier time on the cleanse than I did this time) claims that none of her old habits have changed, which was something of a disappointment to us both. To me, that was one of the best side effects of the cleanse: having this miraculous change in my cravings and finding I was indifferent to foods I used to long for. Still, I’m glad she is a fan of the MC and I look forward to doing another one with her this summer.

Lemonade Diet Day 1.
Today will be my first day on the cleanse. I’m really excited to start… I’m already a pretty healthy vegetarian so I skipped the Ease-In, I am planning to ease out though…
I have decided to do it just to shed some undesired pounds and hopefully i will look a little different too. I am a pretty fit person, 5′3 and about 114 pounds so if I can get down to 110 with this paired with my increasingly active lifestyle I’m hoping to get down to my ideal 105ish. Really I am not about living my life to the scale, but the new year brings the desire of a new body and I’m really hoping this will give me a great kick start.

Hi Zoe! Congrats on sticking with the MC. I m a vegetarian/veganish myself so its easier to “ease in”. My problem is not breaking out of it and cheating :-(

ease out day 4
I’ve got my best friend whom I haven’t seen in over 4 years flying in from Japan to visit me on Friday. She’s into sports so I might tell her about the cleanse I’ve just completed, but I hope to have eased back onto a solid diet by the time she gets here, because I’m sure we’ll be eating and probably having a drink or two (and I’m not talking about water!)
I wonder how my system will react to a bit of “partying”? I’m a bit nervous, to be honest. I guess I’ll take it slow and be careful not to overdo it. I’m sure she’ll understand if I don’t party as hard as she does this weekend, once I’ve explained to her why.

ease out, day 3
It’s kind of good that my boyfriend is home during the weekends, especially this weekend when I’m supposed to be easing out slowly, while at the same time I’m tempted to just pig out on all the foods I’ve been denying myself for the past 12 days, just because i CAN.
Like I mentioned in my other post, I’m still not hungry. This isn’t really that strange because after my last 16-day cleanse my hunger didn’t return for nearly two weeks, and even then it was never that strong a feeling. My problems with food are more psychological. Like it’s my “right” to eat this and that because I’ve been good for so long. Silly thoughts! Childish and very counterproductive :(
This is why I think another 3 days on liquids will be a good thing. It’s no good rushing back into solid food now. Besides, I’m really enjoying the way I’m feeling now on my 3rd day of mainly liquid nutrition.

Ease out day 2
My 13 year old daughter is really glad that i’m easing out of the master cleanse. She couldnt comprehend how i managed to survive on liquid for 10 days.
Like Anna, i only told a few people about doing the cleanse. I also kept a low profile throughout the diet.
