The Process and The Lemonade Diet
What is your process with the Master Cleanse and Lemonade
This page is the place for participants in the New Years Resolution Master Cleanse Experience to post their daily entries. To post, simply leave a comment. You don’t have to be logged in to post.
If you are not participating, you can follow the post to get inspiration to try the cleanse or answer the most basic question: Is The Master Cleanse right for me?
Keep it simple, just talk in your own language about your daily experience. The more you are yourself, the more others will connect with you – and the more you can connect with what they are saying – which is what we want after all, a strong support network through a group experience.
Please provide 100 Words Each Day – Don’t worry that’s not that much. The paragraph below is 100 words..
What is the process you go through to make your Lemonade each day? Do you have any tips? How are you changing this process, if at all, over time? Do you use 2 chugabbles or make 1 glass at a time like Stanley Burroughs suggested. What alternatives to the Lemonade Diet have you used *(Check for generally accepted practices). Do you add anything to the proccess like Psyllium or Bentonite? How do you manage your day? Do you do make the Lemonade in the morning? Do you sip it all day or take big gulps when your most hungry?

What are the detox symptoms/ side effects?
The symptoms are considered to be a milestone in the cleansing and eliminating process and generally occur on days 1-3 and then day 7 for some. Mild exercise and drinking water can help reduce them.
Common detox symptoms-weakness/ tiredness, irritability/anxiety, boredom, headaches (usually less than a day), cravings for bad foods, white coated tongue, and hot bowels movements.
Less common detox symptoms- Feeling cold (hands and feet), joint pain, achy muscles, skin irritations, cramping, insomnia (in the first few days), nausea, vomiting (rare and very short duration), longer lasting headaches, and dizziness when standing up quickly.
Positive effects- There are many but a few are; emotional and mental clarity and focus, increased energy, feeling calm, peacefull, and happy, smooth and clearer skin, and weight loss for those that need it.
Also commonly reported are a heightened sense of smell/ cleaner sinuses, fewer allergies, fewer cravings, stabilized blood sugar levels, stronger immunity, better regularity, stronger digestive system, reduced arthritic pain, more stable blood pressure, lowered cholesterol, and a desire to eat and be healthy!
Fasting can also be very beneficial for self realization and change, inspiring conscious life choices and chang

Susan:
Im glad you got sleep!! I stayed in bed until almost 11:30. I got up at 7:30 to take my SWF but it worked like in 10-15 minutes instead of the usual hour and I lost count how many times I went to the toilet the next 1 1/2 hours after after that. I think its because I put almost 4 instead of 2 tsp of salt in the SWF. I thinks time for me to go back to 2 tsp.! I am STILL going a bit when I pee too.
HAPPY 6TH DAY Susan! We are right behind you and BESIDE you! Friday is your ease out already! THAT will make Friday even more special if you ask me!
Ellen:
We are having very similar experiences! I felt a bit out of whack and slept in today which is UNUSUAL for me. And YES I have had some VERY VERY intense dreams – I thought because I was sleeping a bit into the daylight.
I dreamt I accidentally ate something (I think one dream was peas in can!) and then another I had a party with people over and I ate something and each time I was like, DRATS! I broke the fast! And then I would briefly wake up in relief that it was only a dream and I was still fasting! (LOL) SO mostly I dream abotu EATING! (LOL) And then some other stuff I wont go into but suffice to say it was intense.
Here’s what I found on excercise:
Can I still go to work and exercise?
Many people find they have more energy during the Master Cleanse because the body does not have to expend energy digesting food. You should be able to do normal activities during the Lemonade Diet, including physical activities. Weight lifting should be avoided during the cleanse however as the buildup of lactic acid in the body can make a person sick.

I woke up today without a headache. I feel drained, like when you are getting over a flu, but way better than I did yesterday. Day 3 can begin. I have to confess I don’t like the taste of the lemonade – the syrup taste sickens me even though I try to use less of it. However, it works since the thought of the mixture kills any hunger pangs I may have. Still no significant BM’s. I am going to try the SWF again tonight as I am feeling stronger.
Katie: though I have no BM’s I also have to pee constantly. It gets exhausting after awhile. Maybe I am detoxing a bit that way.
I would like to do a bit of exercise while on the cleanse. I run regularly but haven’t felt up to it. I am going to walk to the animal shelter today (about an hour walk) and see how that goes.
Oh yeah, one more thing – have any of you had any intense dreams since you started the cleanse. the only time I have had these is coming off a really bad hangover (like the DT’s).
Susan: I’m glad you joined the thread as you are farther on in the process. Now we know what we have to look forward to. :)
Have a good 6th and 4th and 3rd day all!

Thanks Jamie. I made myself stay in bed until 10:30 so while I may not have gotten 8 hours of sleep exactly I did get 8 hours of rest. :) DAY 6!!! Here we are!

You are SO funny! I can relate to the superhero smells. The dog treat was hysterical! I came home and took a shower because whether it was my superhuman powers of smell or the real thing was hard to tell but I sensed BO! Yikes! The hot shower was so soothing….but Im wondering how much of this is actual scent and how much is bloodhound coming out of us!
Katie:
I also only have BMs generally in the morning. Once Im done Im done. Thank goodness for that for me because I am not comfortable setting off bombs at the work bathroom! However I pee like I the Octo-Mom pregnant with the bladder the size of a pea! (LOL) Lately the senna tea has cramped me up extra bad and I have “dry heaves” in the night with an occassional BM result. You talked about cilantro leaves but Im all pale yellow liquid (Eeeww-I cant believe Im discussing this!)

Oh yeah – sense of smell – mine kicked into superhero mode on DAY 1. Someone came into the office with a hot dog (I generally don’t even eat those) and the smell filled the entire place and was calling me like the sirens off the shore. Then my neighbors were grilling chicken and it smelled like it was in my house – I swear I could taste it…then I passed the chinese restaurant on the way into the grocery store the other day – I have never noticed the smell but man oh man…it followed me into the store.
And get this: today I gave my dog this treat – someone gave them to her for Christmas and they were in the cabinet – I’d forgotten about them – they smell like slim jims…I loved those as a kid but haven’t eaten one in over 25 years – and this dog treat smelled so fine I almost stuck one in my mouth. I wasn’t hungry – it was just the smell.
Your sense of smell has GOT to start kicking in soon!!!

Okay – all your talk about the beach, massages…saunas – you ladies are doing it right! So Katie – are you saying you only have eliminations in the morning? Maybe you need to drink more tea! I have them all day long…and I swear – when I do the SWF I get mostly just the water, but the tea pushes the stuff on through. I guess it just works differently for everyone. I thought in the book Burroughs says not to exercise…but I agree it’s probably good to do some moderate stuff…I’d be walking my dog if it weren’t raining constantly…I’ll have to get creative tomorrow – hop on the wii fit.
I feel good to be starting day 6 tomorrow – but someone pointed out I have 5 more days to go and that didn’t sound quite as good as “halfway there!” I hear day 7 can be pretty rough…HOPE NOT!
As for teas – traditional medicinal makes “smooth move” and there is also “get regular” (manufacturer not sure) but just look at all the teas in the store – there should be SOMETHING!
Look forward to chatting with you tomorrow – glad this is here! :)
