Most of us can’t stand the Salt Water Flush. If it isn’t the taste, its the volume of liquid. Here are a few tips from our readers to help get through this process.

Use a straw to drink the mixture. You won’t have to taste so much as the liquid does not pass over most of your tongue. Remember to breathe or you might get a head rush.

Add the juice from 1 lemon. This is a popular suggestion. We are taking in lemon already, so no harm done. I wonder about how it effects the Specific Gravity of the solution.

Brush your teeth first. The mint from your toothpaste will help disguise the taste.

Use warm to mildly hot water. Readers report it makes the mixture taste a little like soup.

Sometimes people get the mixture of salt/water wrong, and their body absorbs the salt. If the SWF is not working no matter what you do, try the laxative tea – I do, however, think the SWF is much more beneficial, since all that salt water bathes your intestines and helps clear things out.

First, if you want an alternative simply because you don’t like the taste, consider using a pill capsule for taking medicines. You simply fill the capsule with the cayenne and then take a pill – no tasting. If you have trouble digesting it, ginger or other peppers have been suggested as substitutes, although this site does not recommend ginger as it fails to duplicate the nutrients and effects of cayenne. Paprika has also been suggested and seems to be a closer match. What is important to understand is that the combined ingredients of the Juice provide the tools for your body to function and cleanse. If you are going to replace items, understand which ingredients from the cayenne you are taking out, and which ones you are adding – according to the original text.

The keys to the maple syrup are the calories and the nutrients. If you are looking for a replacement, not only do you need to ensure you are getting the same caloric amounts from it, but also the same nutrients. Not all sugars are equal. Some have been refined so much that they no longer contain any nutrients whatsoever (such as white table sugar). Cane juice and molasses, however, have been widely considered as safe replacements.
