There is often confusion about the Master Cleanse recipe. A first time Master Cleanser Recipe might not be the same as a 10 time Master Cleanser Recipe – just like a first time skydiver might not follow the same routine as a 10 time skydiver. Experience allows for alternatives.

Many people view the Master Cleanse Recipe as gospel. They read the book The Master Cleanse by Stanley Burroughs and revere every syllable as unassailable truth, worship every measurement. That’s fine, even advisable – for the newbie, anyway.

But for the experienced Master Cleanser, the recipe can and even should vary. In this spirit, I will list the Master Cleanser Recipe below for the both the rookie and the veteran – you just need to decide for yourself which type of Master Cleanser you are. Are you a rookie cleanser or a Master Cleanser?

The Rookie Master Cleanser Recipe

Use this Master Cleanser Recipe if you have never tried the Master Cleanse before, or are unsure why each ingredient in the recipe is included. This is the Master Cleanse recipe verbatim (word for word) from its creator, Stanley Burroughs.

2 tablespoons lemon or lime juice (approx. ½ lemon)

2 tablespoons genuine maple syrup (not maple-flavored sugar syrup)

1/10 teaspoon cayenne pepper (red pepper) or to taste

8 oz water, room temperature

Combine the juice, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper in a 10 oz glass jar w/lid and fill with the water.
Shake it up and drink (cold water may be used if preferred).
Use fresh (organic) lemons or limes only, never canned or frozen lemon or lime juice.

The Alterations to the Master Cleanser Recipe

10 oz. fresh sugar cane juice (medium hot or cold)

2 tablespoons fresh lime or lemon juice

1/10 teaspoon cayenne (red pepper) or to taste

Another possible (although inferior) replacement could be pure sorghum (diabetics should not use this). It does not
provide equal or anywhere close to the benefits of maple syrup.

The Master Cleanser Recipe

Follow this Master Cleanser Recipe if you have some experience with the Master Cleanse and understand why you might adjust some of the ingredients in the recipe.

Less-than or more-than 2 tablespoons lemon or lime juice (approx. ½ lemon) – depending on how much weight you need to lose. Be careful not to go too low. If you need more energy, add more.

The Lemonade Diet is the portion of The Master Cleanse during which you consume only the Lemonade. It is a diet in the sense that you are restricted to a certain food. The Lemonade Diet is often used synonymously with The Master Cleanse, but I break it down in order to describe the portion of The Master Cleanse when you consume the nutrients and energy from the Fresh Lemon Juice, Rich Maple Syrup, and organic Cayenne Pepper.

The other sections of The Master Cleanse are the Ease-In, The Lemonade Diet (of course), the Salt Water Flush, the Ease-Out, and the Post Cleanse Lifestyle.

This page is dedicated to the directions to The Lemonade Diet Recipe as well as the ingredients, expectations, problems and experiences myself and the readers of this website have encountered.

The Lemonade Diet begins with preparing the Lemonade. During the diet, you will only consume the Lemonade that you make each day. In order to ensure that it is fresh and will retain as much of the nutrients and energy as possible, you should prepare the Lemonade just moments before drinking it.

Ingredients for The Lemonade Diet Recipe

To make the Lemonade you will need the following ingredients:

2 Tablespoons of Fresh Lemon Juice from one half of a Lemon

2 Tablespoons of Rich Maple Syrup

1/10 of a Teaspoon of Cayenne Pepper

1 – 2 cups of Pure Water (Alkaline Water is best, in my opinion)

To prepare the Lemonade for the Lemonade Diet you will also need the following:

1 large cup to mix your lemonade in

1 Tablespoon Measure

1/10 Teaspoon Measure

Cutting Board

Sharp knife

Juicer (Hand juicer or Power juicer)

Directions on making the Lemonade Diet Recipe

Start by rolling a Lemon on the cutting board to get it nice and juicy. Cut the lemon along its belly and grind it on the juicer. Do this until you have juiced half your lemons, or until you have no more room in your juicer.

Measure 2 Tablespoons of Fresh Lemon Juice into your large cup.

Now measure and at 2 Tablespoons of Rich Maple Syrup to the cup.

Measure and add 1/10 Teaspoon of Cayenne Pepper to the cup (or more to taste).

Mix a and drink immediately.

While on the Lemonade Diet, you can and should drink plenty of Pure Water. I drink 1 cup as a chaser after each cup of Lemonade. You can drink more throughout the day. Try to avoid drinking more than double the amount of Lemonade each day.

What do you think of the Lemonade Diet?

As an essential part of the Master Cleanse, is the Lemonade Diet difficult or easy? Most people find it pretty hard, but some find it a breeze. How about you? Do you think The Lemonade Diet is easy or hard?
