My 4th time doing the cleanse but had tough start. I couldn’t keep my salt water down. Drank it, rested for 1/2 hr and then it came back up. Any suggestions? I don’t remember this happening in previous years

If you are taking a whole quart of the saltwater you might try cutting that in half to one pint of the saltwater mix. I don’t know how many of the MC fasts I’ve done but I have personally taught and guided more than a thousand people through 10 to 30 days MCs fasts. Good to see all the web sites with the information on the Master Cleanse. though a few are misleading most are very good. when learned about it all the was to go by was the little yellow book.

Where can I read the answers to these questions? That’s how FAQ’s usually work, right..?

Anyway, I’ve never done any cleanse, let alone “the master cleanse”. And, being a fourty five year smoker, who, though I eat mostly organic home cooked meals nowadays, has eaten considerably more than his share of junk food over many years, I find myself a little concerned about what side effects I can expect.

Any information you can share would be appreciated.

    Thanks

I have been doing the Master Cleanse for 3 times a year for 9 years now! It has been great and I love doing it. However, I am now 51 and when I have done the cleanse this last year, I get a new strange symptom. I get thickening in the joints of my fingers. Two of my fingers are becoming increasingly knobby while on the diet. It feels like there is a correlation to this finger effect and the master cleanse. After the cleanse, the knobs do not go away completely but unfortunately mostly stay swollen. Every time I do the cleanse they get and stay more thick around the joints. The rest of my body feels terrific after the cleanse. I went to my doctor (who does not know what the master cleanse is) and showed him my now thick finger joints and he is convince its “osteoarthritis” and its just caused by old age. I think it occurred only when I did the master cleanse and it is related to that.
Have you heard of this from others and do you have any advice?

Can I drink all six or more servings at once? or must it be spread throughout the day?

    • John Parson March 22, 2018 at 10:52 am #

No 6 to 12 a day. unless you just want to flush it all down like you were doing the salt water flush. By spreading the drinks out it lessons the hunger to start,it also keeps your blood sugar level and gives you lots of energy through the day. If you go exactly like the instruction tell you, you will have a great experience otherwise not so much good. If you are not clear on the instruction, read them again until you are.

    Hello.
I am on day 10 of my fourth Master Cleanse. (I’ve done a 10 day and two 14 day cleanses.)
Can anyone tell me if there is a day one reaches when the bowel movements are clear?
I know that i CAN keep going, but honestly don’t feel that it is necessary for me. I easily reached the 10 day mark, having known what to expect.

The bowel movements become clear when the bowel are completely cleared out. Some people may take longer than others and every fast you do will be different for you too. If you go longer that the 10 days you will not have much going on in the bowel department until about D-15 then you may get another big bunch of nasty stuff coming out, this will happen off and on every 4 or 5 days as the the toxins in your body all go to the bowels for release. Again this is different for everyone as are all the “side affects”. Have a good one.

Is it ok to make a gallons worth if I’m on the go as long as the measurements are right?

I live in a very hot climate and like to add ice cubes to the lemon drink. Is that a problem?
Also, sometimes I like to make a hot drink and would like to have a hot lemon tea with maple syrup and cayenne?
