Group Cleanse Support Topic: Psychological and Emotional Effects (My Experience)

This page is a Support Topic Page for The Psychological and Emotional Effects for our Master Cleanse Group Cleanse. Please check that page for details on our Quarterly Cleanses and our Individual Cleanses.
To learn more about the value of Group Cleansing, check out this report.

The Group Cleanse will not only give us the forum to support each other, doing The Master Cleanse together, but it also enables us to track our experiences by setting standards to the conversation. If we all just posted random thoughts we would get a lot less value from the comments. But if the comments are structured, and relevant by time and topic, we can gain even more insight, more quickly and more effectively. Therefore we ask participants to start and finish the Master Cleanse on the same dates.

This page is the place for participants in the The Master Cleanse Group Experience to post their daily entries. To post, simply leave a comment. You don’t have to be logged in to post. Please provide 100 words each day – don’t worry; that’s not that much. The paragraph below, for example, is 100 words.

What is going through your mind? We have thoughts that seem out of control when we are in our daily grind – many of these revolve around food. We may also feel stress that in turn causes us to eat, to have emotional reactions. Many people report feeling in more control while doing The Master Cleanse – alongside a sense of clarity. Do commercials about food drive you crazy? Are you more patient than ever?

If you are not participating, you can follow the post to get inspiration to try the cleanse or answer the most basic question: Is The Master Cleanse right for me?

Keep it simple, just talk in your own language about your daily experience. The more you are yourself, the more others will connect with you – and the more you can connect with what they are saying – which is what we want after all, a strong support network through a group experience.

If you haven’t yet, go ahead and register for the Group Cleanse to get our “Guided Cleanse Experience” email sequence timed to correspond with your registration and the important days as the come up during our scheduled group cleanses.

Day 4 in the bag. I m feeling a little like I’m sleepwalking. A little fuzzy minded (but no tears like yesterday). I am having random very vivid dreams. Last night I dreamed I was eating a huge bowl of mint girl scout cookies! Haven’t had those in years, I tasted them and everything.

So yesterday I skipped my post because I had every intention of posting it in this morning and then the day got away from me, so here I am at the end of day 3 with this post about day 2 and 3.

So day 2: I felt the desire to eat but not very hungry. I was in a pretty good mood during the day. After my evening work out I felt pretty sleepy and fell asleep shortly after getting to bed.

Day 3: today wasn’t the best. I felt tired so I rested a lot. I did feel like I wanted to eat today more than the last two. I also felt heavy today. I kind of felt like I wanted to get off for some egg rolls that are in my fridge!! But here’s to the end of day three!

Day Three and I feel like crying. I don’t cry and nothing is wrong. It seems like a random symptom of a detox so I’m just going to go with it. It may be because I haven’t had such a good rest in a really long time. I took a few day off to do this with no kids, so it is just ALL coming out, mentally and physically. Literally ALL coming out.

So I made it through day 1 Surprised at how I don’t feel crazy hungry… Yet lol!

A bit cranky and not very patient with kids.

It’s a rainy day here in the North of France and the boys are on summer vacation. So we’ve decided to go see a movie. 1st time ever that I’ve gone to see a movie and not had popcorn. They’re sharing a giant popcorn right beside me! I need to breath through my mouth so I can’t smell it

Stay Strong! if you can avoid popcorn, you can do ANYTHING.

Day one I feel ok right now. I began the day feeling great and ready to go, but around eleven I began to feel hungry. Or I guess the correct feeling is wanting something to eat, not necessarily hungry. Drank one lemonade after another. Then I wanted to eat again while a made supper but I pushed through it and went to the gym instead. Lol.

Anyone doing the cleanse this time around? I’m a mother of three small kids, and I am around food so much! I have started the cleanse once before but only made it about four days. My main issues are caffeine withdrawal and the emotional fatigue of cleansing while caring for three little ones. Anyone been there?

Yes. Caffeine withdrawal is the worst. I’m living it right now with a splitting headache. I took the day off work and have been sleeping more than is reasonable. Im focusing on the fact that it is temporary.

Well, I am not doing awesome on this cleanse so far, but I am not giving up! I had some caffeine this morning, but tomorrow is another day, and I am going to give it my best. Hope day one went well for you!!!

I’m a newbie on day one of the MC. I’m also a mom of two young boys and constantly having to make meals. Lunch was a tough one as the food smelled sooo good. I fought urge and made it through the afternoon but dinner is right around the Corner. This is not going to be easy!

Good for you! I am so encouraged by this. How did dinner go?

I did great. I made dinner for the family and then went upstairs to watch Tv and drink my lemonade.

I’ve decided to make meals that really appeal to me. Fish is going to be on the menu A LOT this week lol!

I started the cleanse yesterday, woke up feeling fine, slight headache, after the salt it subsided. I always feel really good when I cleanse. It’s been too long since I have preformed the mc but grateful that my way of eating has led me back to it again. I am under the attack of some flu virus, I can tell because my body aches and pains increase and I am weaker. So I decided on a whim, one day it just came to me, like my body was asking me to reminise about the time we used it together in ’74 and the benefit has been recorded in my bodies history, it reminded me of how to be pain free and virus resistant. It is day two and I couldn’t be more exited. Bring it on because i’d rather be doing this then trying to roll out of bed in the morning full of pain and sinus congestion, having to cancel stuff because ‘I’m to ill’. It’s mind over matter bitches and if there was one thing that truly helped me years ago when I used this healing method, it was gaining the confidence I needed in order to be able to heal myself, that has not only helped me through out the years but also my children. I love the feeling of a healthy body, the feeling that you’re utilizing natures resources in order to bring the natural ph balance our bodies so eagerly crave.

Hooray for day 10!! Today I went to the grocery store to pick up my oranges and veggies for the soup. I was able to appreciate all the different smells (although they are still somewhat muted with my stuffy nose), and not feel tempted by them. I feel in control for the first time in FOREVER!

Thank you, all, for your support and guidance on this journey. Would not have thought about continuing for the full 10 days without your encouragement!

Day 10 I have a great sense of satisfaction and accomplishment for making it through 10 days of this cleanse. Had I known how sick I would feel throughout the entire cleanse I might not have even attempted it. Even now, I am worried that maybe I am going to feel ill from now on. At this point, although food is appealing I don’t feel anywhere close to actually being able to eat again. I am definitely doing the ease out, but if I don’t feel any different physically (ie not sick and in pain all the time) I don’t know what I will do.
