Group Cleanse Support Topic: Psychological and Emotional Effects (My Experience)

This page is a Support Topic Page for The Psychological and Emotional Effects for our Master Cleanse Group Cleanse. Please check that page for details on our Quarterly Cleanses and our Individual Cleanses.
To learn more about the value of Group Cleansing, check out this report.

The Group Cleanse will not only give us the forum to support each other, doing The Master Cleanse together, but it also enables us to track our experiences by setting standards to the conversation. If we all just posted random thoughts we would get a lot less value from the comments. But if the comments are structured, and relevant by time and topic, we can gain even more insight, more quickly and more effectively. Therefore we ask participants to start and finish the Master Cleanse on the same dates.

This page is the place for participants in the The Master Cleanse Group Experience to post their daily entries. To post, simply leave a comment. You don’t have to be logged in to post. Please provide 100 words each day – don’t worry; that’s not that much. The paragraph below, for example, is 100 words.

What is going through your mind? We have thoughts that seem out of control when we are in our daily grind – many of these revolve around food. We may also feel stress that in turn causes us to eat, to have emotional reactions. Many people report feeling in more control while doing The Master Cleanse – alongside a sense of clarity. Do commercials about food drive you crazy? Are you more patient than ever?

If you are not participating, you can follow the post to get inspiration to try the cleanse or answer the most basic question: Is The Master Cleanse right for me?

Keep it simple, just talk in your own language about your daily experience. The more you are yourself, the more others will connect with you – and the more you can connect with what they are saying – which is what we want after all, a strong support network through a group experience.

If you haven’t yet, go ahead and register for the Group Cleanse to get our “Guided Cleanse Experience” email sequence timed to correspond with your registration and the important days as the come up during our scheduled group cleanses.

    Day 9
My sore throat is finally abating and I’m sure that is because of the event in the night, it was self manifested fear that I had harboured for about 6 years to do with my living situation which is now legal. It woke me up in the night and I reacted as I did then before fully realising what was actually happening here. So I was thrilled to of got over the 7 days and be able to rid my body of this fear finally!!

    Day 9!

Day 8 was full of surprises. First, I could not drink lemonade as I was not hungry.
At night I had unbearable food craving. My mind was fully occupied by piece of fried pork by the size of my head. And my mouth was full of saliva. It was awful. I could not kick off this image from my head. But when I tried to chose the first dish to start normal life, I could not concentrate at all. I can’t understand what I want to eat. Maybe because I want everything now. And I want meat more than any other food. But I was not meat lover before. I hope it is not forevery and after 2 or 3 steaks I will come back to my normal diet routine – vegis, fruits, soups and healthy sandwiches

    Day 7.

7!!!! I’ve been waiting for this day as only 3 more days left to go. I count only lemonade days. Ease out also a part of MC but it is already kind of food-days. Now I am 100% sure I will do it.

I know it’s only day 6 but I’m starting to think about what live food I might have for the 2nd day of ease out, there’s some really good recipes out there! particularly in my own cook book I’m pleased to find.
If I’m to keep going though I’m seriously going to have to increase the lemonade otherwise I’m going to waste away, this cold is taking its toll.

      Hi, Loraine.
I also feel cold usually around 2pm. Winter is not the best time to do MC, right?
If you don’t mind my asking how do you plan to live after MC. You plan to become vegetarian or continue eat hamburgers or how? Many people saying that they changed a lot after MC – changed mentally and physically. Switched to live food diet, started to work out, do yoga. I think about food but for now really do not know what diet stick after MC. I want hamburger :) but it is not healthy

        Hi Anna
I’ve long since given up the hamburger, white bread became intolerable a long time ago too, messing with my blood sugars, meat particularly processed I find indigestible, so I’m more into fish, vegetables, lentils, beans brown rice, but digestion got so sluggish anything I put into it was backing up.
So now I think I will eat more live foods and use kefir to make dairy more easy to digest.
This is a book my sister gave its called ‘healing foods’ by Neal’s Yard, it’s got some great recipes in the back.
        How about you?

          Hi Loraine,
I was raw since June 2016. Not long. But now I think I will eat everything but by smaller portions. I am very OK with all kind of food. My problem is I eat much more than my system needs. I overfeed myself. After MC I understand that I can live without food so it will be easier to restrict the portions now. And I will eat clean for sure. Being raw I felt great. I never was a meat lover but had it from time to time. Confused thoughts :)
Still have 5 days to decide.

That’s really good going raw since June!! Yes I think smaller portions are the way to go, I find having a glass of hot water before a meal can help to fill up a bit.
I think I will try and have my main meal at lunch and leave dinner as a light meal.
I’ve been quite hung up about making sure I’m having enough protein e.c.t but now I know it doesn’t really matter I will survive
im going to listen to my stomach instead of my brain, and try that for a bit :))

    Day 5
I’m finding that it does get easier, no more cravings, still feeling under the weather with this cold, but I’m sure it will come right soon.

Day 4, I felt like I had turned a corner today, felt much brighter this morning, the cold had receded but as the day wore on it came back. Tomorrow I have a day off so I’m planning to stay warm in bed.

Day 3. I love it! I am a food lover. Not overweight but not a slim either. I was afraid that I will have food cravings. But so far no cravings at all. And I am still OK with lemonade, not boring. So far Master cleanse is OK for me.
