Group Cleanse Support Topic: Psychological and Emotional Effects (My Experience)

This page is a Support Topic Page for The Psychological and Emotional Effects for our Master Cleanse Group Cleanse. Please check that page for details on our Quarterly Cleanses and our Individual Cleanses.
To learn more about the value of Group Cleansing, check out this report.

The Group Cleanse will not only give us the forum to support each other, doing The Master Cleanse together, but it also enables us to track our experiences by setting standards to the conversation. If we all just posted random thoughts we would get a lot less value from the comments. But if the comments are structured, and relevant by time and topic, we can gain even more insight, more quickly and more effectively. Therefore we ask participants to start and finish the Master Cleanse on the same dates.

This page is the place for participants in the The Master Cleanse Group Experience to post their daily entries. To post, simply leave a comment. You don’t have to be logged in to post. Please provide 100 words each day – don’t worry; that’s not that much. The paragraph below, for example, is 100 words.

What is going through your mind? We have thoughts that seem out of control when we are in our daily grind – many of these revolve around food. We may also feel stress that in turn causes us to eat, to have emotional reactions. Many people report feeling in more control while doing The Master Cleanse – alongside a sense of clarity. Do commercials about food drive you crazy? Are you more patient than ever?

If you are not participating, you can follow the post to get inspiration to try the cleanse or answer the most basic question: Is The Master Cleanse right for me?

Keep it simple, just talk in your own language about your daily experience. The more you are yourself, the more others will connect with you – and the more you can connect with what they are saying – which is what we want after all, a strong support network through a group experience.

If you haven’t yet, go ahead and register for the Group Cleanse to get our “Guided Cleanse Experience” email sequence timed to correspond with your registration and the important days as the come up during our scheduled group cleanses.

Hi guys. This is my 4th time doing the Master Cleanse. In the past I’ve only done 3 and 5 days, but this time I am doing the full 10 days. I’m a married mother of 2, so cooking for others has made staying on the cleanse a challenge, but this time I just feel so toxic and in need of a break that I am determined to make it the full 10 days. So I guess my advise to everyone is if you’re in my situation and you still must feed those people that live with you, make meals in advance and have food in the house that they might be able to prepare themselves……. I’m sure they can do it.
Another challenge for me in the past was making it through the 2nd and 3rd day of headaches – I’m not sure if the headaches are a result of not drinking coffee or if part of the liver cleanse, but I do know that it is part of the process and I just have to get through them. But, FYI, do be prepared.
    Good luck to everyone!!

DAY 1 – Emotionally I’m feeling like I really need this cleanse… I hope that I can finally complete it. I’ve done it a few times but never able to complete… the most days I lasted was 3! I’m the biggest foodie ever… so food will be on my mind 24/7!

But I feel like psychology I got this!

I wish everyone all the best.. happy cleansing!

    Day 1

The ease-in felt soooo long! I even cheated a little on day 2 :/
Happy to be starting the lemonade today! First drink is delicious:)
Already started to feel sad yesterday beacuse of the lack of being able to use food as a source of joy.
A couple of reasons why I chose to do the master cleanse:
I feel I was abusing food, and overeating often. Total emotional eater here.
I am hoping that the cleanse will help me choose healthier foods and appreciate food in a new way <3

    Day 2

I felt better today when I woke up, I felt energetic and went to the range to hit balls. I find myself really looking forward to drinking my lemonade because it is the only thing that fuels my body basically. I drank one before the range and one during the range when I felt a little weak. I am definitely hungry, I almost took some free popcorn that was offered to me, like I was about to eat it and then I remembered. I put the bag done and that was hard to do. I think if I make it past today then I’ll be fine. Wish me luck.

Day 2 – PSYCHOLOGICAL AND EMOTIONAL
Today I feel stronger and clearer mentally. I like the feeling of less to do without thinking about what to cook or having to shop much (I still have to feed my kiddos). I find I am craving healthy stuff. Like I was seriously tempted to pop a roasted Brussel sprout in my mouth tonight. But having done this once before I know that pay off is so great, that I wouldn’t really cheat myself that way. I am looking forward to more and more clarity as the days go on.

Day 2 -PSYCHOLOGICAL AND EMOTIONAL Feeling relaxed today, and more positive than I have in a long while. While my energy isn’t phenomenal, I like the mental reset. I am not excited about going to a social event tomorrow in which there will be delicious food. I plan to bring two lemonades with me and stay away from the food display. It’s not so much the hunger that makes it a challenge, but more the pleasure from the taste of food. I am already dreaming about the big green salads I’ll be eating at the end of this.

Day 1 – Psychologically I was missing food. Since I’m still preparing meals and snacks for our three kids I am around food a lot. I noticed times when I would have normally licked a spoon, or perhaps eaten a half eat sandwich of my kids. It takes discipline, but I love how over time I will be able to disconnect from food all together.

I wonder if anyone uses this site anymore? Today is day 2 for me and I won’t lie I totally had some nectarine this morning and it gave me an awfully sore stomach. I haven’t done the SWF yet either but I guess I need to tomorrow.

    Day 2 ease out
I found day 1 ease out quite a challenge, with not enough calories to meet my needs, I probably added about 4 Tbs of maple syrup throughout the day and squeezed the oranges as I went. My tummy felt better after taking a probiotic. But when I took a natural multivitamin plus iron, I think it had the reverse effect on me and I felt weak and in need of iron. So later had more maple and that sorted me.

    Day 10
I’m so proud of myself to have got to day 10!!!! :))))) My throat is not sore, neither do I have flu symptom, I feel light and energetic and really switched on, veteran happy with out come. My body now is telling me to stop cleansing and start the ease out. Obviously I’m thinking about what to be including in my diet, and that is more raw food, and probiotic kefir that I will prepare myself into milk and cheese. Fermented vegetables also I’m going to learn to make.
