Group Cleanse Support Topic: Social Support from Family and Friends

This page is a Support Topic Page for The Social Support from Family and Friends for our Master Cleanse Group Cleanse. Please check that page for details on our Quarterly Cleanses and our Individual Cleanses.

The Group Cleanse will not only give us the forum to support each other, doing The Master Cleanse together, but it also enables us to track our experiences by setting standards to the conversation. If we all just posted random thoughts we would get a lot less value from the comments. But if the comments are structured, and relevant by time and topic, we can gain even more insight, more quickly and more effectively. Therefore we ask participants to start and finish the Master Cleanse on the same dates.

This page is the place for participants in the The Master Cleanse Group Experience to post their daily entries. To post, simply leave a comment. You don’t have to be logged in to post. Please provide 100 words each day – don’t worry; that’s not that much. The paragraph below, for example, is 100 words.

We have probably all experienced the “What’s wrong with you?” look when telling friends or family that we are trying the Master Cleanse. And equally, most of us have at least one person in our life who supports us. The Lemonade Diet is difficult, and (dis)approval by our peers can make all the difference.

In fact, that is why I started this Master Cleanse Group Experience diary; we can support each other.

Let us know about the people and experiences you have each and every day. Who made fun of you? Who showed compassion? Who understood the cleansing, and who thought you were nuts?

If you are not participating, you can follow the post to get inspiration to try the cleanse or answer the most basic question: Is The Master Cleanse right for me?

Keep it simple, just talk in your own language about your daily experience. The more you are yourself, the more others will connect with you – and the more you can connect with what they are saying – which is what we want after all, a strong support network through a group experience.

If you haven’t yet, go ahead and register for the Group Cleanse to get our “Guided Cleanse Experience” email sequence timed to correspond with your registration and the important days as the come up during our scheduled group cleanses.

Ease Out Day 1 – First time master cleanse – Social Support Family Friends.
My family was a little surprised to see me still drinking the lemonade. I told them that it’s better for me than ginger ale. They are really proud of me but they a little worried about me. It’s clear that I look run down. It’s been a really busy week and I’m not sure that I will write tomorrow. We’ll see. I’d rather write something that will benefit people rather that just write to write. I have a good amount of insight and I want to get it down on paper, but I can’t really do justice to any of it if I’m just trying to get out in 100 words. Have a good night all. See ya.

    Ease-Out – Day 2 …

When my face started getting uncomfortable after mid-day today, I started feeling down about it and this had a knock-on affect with my bf.
He is still sick with the ‘man-flu’, so couldn’t really let himself be as supportive as he would have hoped to be. He helped me do some research on the reactions my face was going through, but I was knocking myself down quite a bit.

He is still extremely proud of what I have accomplished and did keep reminding me, that if we cannot get control over it soon, I can just jump back onto the cleanse, which is true, I suppose – so, he is thinking in the right spot.

I still haven’t told any friends or family. I just wanted to be happy and enjoy my day of food today – the time will come where I shout from a roof-top about how great it is, but need to get my head around Easing out first.

Ease Out Day 1 – First time master cleanse – Social Support Family Friends. My friend is coming home tomorrow. I hope the juicer comes soon. He is looking forward to playing guinea pig to my raw madness experiments. The nurses were laughing at us joking around today about juice and nutrition. They put a stint in and he feel amazing. He seems more “with it”. Kinda hard to explain, but I think there is more oxygen flowing lol. Now if I can just pry the cigarettes from his clutches we’ll be jake. My sister-in-law got sick on Sunday and had to bow out on the cleanse. I think she and I will do it again. I tried to register for January 2013, but I’m not sure if it took. Is anyone else thinking of doing the winter group cleanse?

    Ease-Out – Day 1 …

My bf helped me peel my oranges this morning and he was helping me measure out my 2 x litres. He has been extremely supportive throughout all of this.
To be honest, because it has been so simple, it hasn’t really got in his way and because I have still been able to prepare the family meals without crying over his mashed potatoes, it hasn’t interrupted our day to day life.

Marc has recently come down with the flu (I feel no symptoms what so ever at present, which is good), but this meant that the Birthday meal last night we declined going to – I WAS SOOOO HAPPY!!!!! It just meant that I never had to tell any family member at the time what I was doing.

Because I have had such a good experience on The Master Cleanse, I now have the confidence to tell anyone who asks, how much good it can do to your body, your emotions and your health – So, I bring on the questions and the negativity :) – You try bringing me dow, it wont work…. Lol.

So, yeah. With thanks again to this forum, the support on this Journey has been brilliant and everyone here has done so well and we should all be very proud of ourselves!
    Here’s to the next time…

    Day 1 – Ease Out

WOOHOO! We are done ladies and on to the ease out. Everyone of us should be giving ourselves a big pat on the back. I just wanted to say a big thanks to everyone who posted on this forum during the cleanse. Everytime I felt like giving up or wanted to eat I just came here for inspiration and it got me back on track everytime. I’m really not sure if I would have been able to do it alone without all you wonderful women. Some of you made me laugh wth your stories, and I really feel like I related to some of you and what you were going through. I just want to wish everyone luck with the ease out and their overall health in the future.

Special thanks to: Liz Nichol, Marian, Karli, Melissa & Karen. I read your posts everyday and was only able to get through because of you. :)

Day 10 Lemonade Diet – First time master cleanse – Social Support Family Friends. I have some great news about my friend. He will be released this Friday. ? and he’ll be walking back into a totally raw apartment. LOL. Get healthy by proxy, sort of. I’ll have more info on him tomorrow. I haven’t spoken with my sister-in-law either, but we’ll catch up on Friday. I get to babysit my beautiful niece and this week I’ll be drinking juice and broth, maybe a cracker? ;) Just kidding. Lemonade Diet – Day 10 –

I found out when taking my daughter to Story Hour at the library, that my hubby had turned down a social dinner invitation with his brother and family earlier this week. I was so bummed! AND… I found out that he told them the reason he was turning it down was because I was cleansing.

I thought he knew I didn’t want it talked about. Apparently his family doesn’t count?? Ugh. I’m annoyed. My SIL was really nice about it today, but she totally asked, and so we talked about it a little. But it was awkward. She invited our family over tonight so the kids could play, etc, but then seemed confused and didn’t know what to do about food since I’m still cleansing. I hate being an inconvenience to people!!! I said not to worry about me, etc, but it was still awkward.

At least she didn’t say I was crazy. I’m sure she was thinking it, but it’s not the first topic she could think I’d gone nuts about – so at least it’s not a completely new thing between us. haha.

    Lemonade Diet – Day 10 …

Today I have been in a really good mood and it kind of rubbed off on my boyfriend. I think he is pleased also about me being on my last day and is looking forward to us both cooking meals together as from next week.

He has been extremely supportive throughout the last 10 days and has been healthy himself this week and we both feel the best we have in a long time.

I do hope that this feeling continues for the next few weeks if not longer. Maybe this is the beginning to a brand new life for both of us? I certainly have a new concept to eating, listening to my body and the type of foods I want going into it – I am so pleased.

Then there is my little family on this forum.
Where has Marian gone??? – Come back… I hope she’s okay.

Thank you so much for all of your support and help. It has been a privilege doing it with everyone and I hope everyone has benefited as much as I have throughout this journey.

I will continue to update throughout my Ease-Out process, but thank you for getting me through the toughest parts of the last 10 days.

Day 9 Lemonade Diet – First time master cleanse – Social Support Family Friends.
I felt like writing to you guys throughout the day and updating you more in real time than in this synopsis form that I’m using. I didn’t do it because My emotions were all over the place. Do know that I carried each of you with me today. I really felt like reaching out, I just wasn’t sure how to do it without it to get too confusing. My mom was texting me a lot asking for updates and sending warm cyber hugs. My sister-in-law didn’t text because she knows when I have a lot on my plate, I’m best left alone.
