Group Cleanse Support Topic: Weight Loss and Physical Results

This page is a Support Topic Page for Weight Loss and Physical Results for our Master Cleanse Group Cleanse. Please check that page for details on our Quarterly Cleanses and our Individual Cleanses.

The Group Cleanse will not only give us the forum to support each other, doing The Master Cleanse together, but it also enables us to track our experiences by setting standards to the conversation. If we all just posted random thoughts we would get a lot less value from the comments. But if the comments are structured, and relevant by time and topic, we can gain even more insight, more quickly and more effectively. Therefore we ask participants to start and finish the Master Cleanse on the same dates.

This page is the place for participants in the The Master Cleanse Group Experience to post their daily entries. To post, simply leave a comment. You don’t have to be logged in to post. Please provide 100 words each day – don’t worry; that’s not that much. The paragraph below, for example, is 100 words.

Weight Loss – Even though The Lemonade Diet is about so much more that weight loss, it is still an effective reduction diet. Weigh yourself each day. How much weight did you lose today? Are you happy or disappointing with the results? What were your expectations? Some people loose weight the day they start The Lemonade Diet. Some people don’t lose weight until well into the diet. Describe your daily experiences.

Physical – Talk about the way your body is reacting to the cleanse. Do you feel full of energy? Do you feel like you have a cold? Headaches on Day 2 but feeling great on day 8? Think about it, how do you feel today? Just pretend you are talking to your best friend and complaining about the hard parts and raving about the good.

If you are not participating, you can follow the post to get inspiration to try the cleanse or answer the most basic question: Is The Master Cleanse right for me?

Keep it simple, just talk in your own language about your daily experience. The more you are yourself, the more others will connect with you – and the more you can connect with what they are saying – which is what we want after all, a strong support network through a group experience.

If you haven’t yet, go ahead and register for the Group Cleanse to get our “Guided Cleanse Experience” email sequence timed to correspond with your registration and the important days as the come up during our scheduled group cleanses.

Pre-Cleanse. 22 Days till Group Cleanse

One effect I hope to get after the de-tox is a relief from pms….tun tun tun! Before age 30 I didn’t even know what that was or how it felt. Whenever I saw a commercial for Midol or Pamprin I said to myself: “Well I’m glad I don’t need that stuff. Does it really exist?”

Nowadays I understand exactly what many other women experience. I get mostly piercing headaches, increased appetite and exhaustion. Maybe all of these are the result of the same hormonal changes that come with age, but maybe they are also the result of accumulated toxins in the body.

That’s probably the subject of a book in and of itself…but what I hope will happen after my cleanse and subsequent cleanses is to get some relief from these very real physical symptoms that come every month. Symptoms that really mess with my life. I’ve refused to go out to the club with my boyfriend because I feel “like a slob”, “bloated”, “exhausted”, “like no one in the world would find me attractive let alone sexy”. I am really tired of having only two good weeks out of the month where I feel like myself.

So to recap; So my goals for the cleanse are:
    1. to de-tox and create a safe environment for a fetus
    2. to de-tox hopefully for relief from pms symptons
    3. to de-tox to aid in weight loss (almost forgot this one)
    4. to de-tox and change my eating habits permanently

I feel headachey and a bit down today. I didn’t have my morning coffee along with breakfast. No caffeine since Sunday (three days) and I suspect this is the reason I don’t feel quite myself. But I knew I had to give up coffee before the de-tox to make at least that withdrawal symptom easier.

Also, instead of tossing all my bad foods out of the fridge, I decided to go ahead and eat them. And enjoy them as much as possible. Kinda like a last hoorah for those things that I will go without for a while. Like my yummy ice-cream. You can’t toss out ice-cream…that’s criminal. And my cheese. No way I can trash that! Plus it would be a waste of money right?!

Anyway, that’s my way of slowly gravitating toward healthier stock in the fridge. I’m thinking it would be too damaging to my psyche to just grab the pacifier from the baby’s mouth and let her cry. And then go on a binge…Nope. I will eat my cheese and ice-cream and enjoy it.

Then after the de-tox is over, I will buy more organic and healthier foods. I already started shopping at my local health food stores so I know I can replace everything I’ve eaten in the past with a healthier alternative.

Pre-Cleanse. 28 Days till Group Cleanse.

Because I know how stubborn my bad habits are…I decided that I needed to ease into this whole process. In the past, I’ve tackled my badness head on–hit a wall and knocked myself out of the running right out of the gate.

I’m trying to make the upcoming cleanse less scary or hard on my set-in patterns, by taking some small (giant) steps. I’ve felt good about drinking more water, trying to switch away from coffee to herbal teas, eating salads and more organic foods. I’m really lucky that my boyfriend loves vegetables and natural foods! His support is tremendously helpful.

In spite of all the good things, I am really tired most of the time. By 2 or 3pm I am ready for bed. I have a very sedentary job and know having my butt in a chair is the main issue. I resolved to start taking my homemade lunch to the office and taking a half hour walk each day. So far, I’ve succeeded in taking my lunch to work, but have yet to step outside. Well…it’s cold and rainy. Not really, it’s just my excuse to not move. But I do remember how good it feels to be outside in the fresh(ish) California air, and sweat. I need that feeling again. I’m looking forward to not feeling so tired all the time.

In an effort to start setting my foundation–I’ve been drinking a lot more water/tea than in the past. I already feel lighter and my midsection feels less bloated. I put on my jeans today that I hadn’t used in about a month and lo’ and behold: they fit different! I won’t say I’ve lost any weight because I haven’t weighed myself, but I see and feel a difference already.

Ah magical, mystical H20–how I missed you!

Oh by the way – the doc told me I needed to lose a bunch of weight before getting pregnant. I’ve been big since I was a kid…and even I know that it behooves me to trim down before getting pregnant….the fact that I forgot to mention that I needed to lose weight also is a good thing I think. It really shows how having read Mike’s material and also everyone else’s comments and experience makes the master cleanse less a “lose weight quick” fad and more about de-toxification and getting a fresh start to a healthier lifestyle. Thanks everyone!

Pre-Cleanse, 1 month before Group Cleanse
As mentioned before, one main reason I am doing the MC is to de-tox in preparation for pregnancy. Above that the doctor scared me into action by telling me all the horrible things I or the baby may suffer through if I didn’t get healthier before getting pregnant.

5 years back, I did get pregnant unexpectedly. I miscarried. It was bad to go through that and have been told it’s very common to miscarry in the first trimester. Ok…it was a common occurrance – but one that I don’t go through everyday. So this time, I am hoping things will be different and am trying to do my part to have a successful pregnancy resulting in a healthier baby. I know I could probably just get pregnant now – and wing it- but I am unwilling to take the risk and risk someone else’s quality of life in the process.

So my doctor congratulated me for actually going to get more information BEFORE being pregnant. Which I was surprised because I figured in this day and age – who wouldn’t be more prepared. Maybe I’m just more of a planner than some…anyway. I’ll do my best on all counts.

    Lemonade Diet Day-3 evening

i am on my 4th attempt to a master cleanse and so far i have not been able to do the complet 10 days, the closest i have gotten was day 7 on my 2nd attempt. My 3rd attempt was a complete failure simply because i ignore the warnings on this website. Preparation is key. i ruched into it right after a 2 month trip (that didn’t really affect my weight i just overreacted). hopefully this time will be different.
i have lost weight in between my attempts to a master cleanse, and for the most part i have maintain a healthiER lifestyle than before, but i do need to get over this Plateau i have been hitting for the last 6-7 weeks. My goal 6 month ago was 20 lb by the end of the year and i am still 10 lbs short (or “only 10 lbs short “).
So anyways wish me luck every pound dropped means lesser risk of a chronic disease and with my being 80 lbs over Any-drop counts..

      Lemonade diet day-5 evening

Day four was a little bit complicated, my body was aching my head was aching and i could not take food out of my mind. So i decided to go to the Gym. Yes best decision ever. i got there started to run on the treadmill for 20 mn and then did a lot of stretching and some lightweight training. And that helped tremendously. i came home surprisingly full of energy. I guess the toxins were freed from their fatty prison and my body need either a way to emprison them into fat or get them out of my system. At least that’s how explain the whole thing to myself.
Unfortunately despite this little victory i am a bit desapointed on the weight loss front, No real change to speak of except the loss caused by freeing the stomach and bowels of the food and waists they were holding onto.
Tomorrow is Day-6 and i will be going to the gym again in the evening and if by day-7 morning i do not see the numbers 115 kg on my scale (thats about 253 lb ) i will alter the recipe of the lemonade (putting 1/2 of the maple syrup) to cause a greater calorie deficit and consequently more weight loss. I do not like the idea of cutting down on the maple syrup since it will probably affect how active i am going to be but, i guess i just have to do what i have to do.

        Lemonade Diet day -7 Morning

Good news i don’t have to reduce my daily maple syrup intake, because today i weight in at 115.3 kg (254.1 lbs) after BM.
i know this won’t be my final weight after the MC since i expect about 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs) of Possible Gain. this 1.5 kg number is just to keep my expectation low. i have improved my eating habit over the past year, both in portion control and in eating more vegetables, to point where i think if i wasn’t overweight i would be considered healthy. But it is still better to be realistic a portion of the weight loss was my intestines unloading their reserve content.
Also as a random comment. i went back on the comment page of group-cleans/weight-loss and i discover my first comment as a first time master cleanser six-month ago. I found out that my starting weight was 225.6 kg (277 lb) and with today’s weight in i lost a total of 10.3 kg, (22.3 lbs).
I know this may not seems to be a big deal but IT IS. if you’ve ever struggle with weight loss you know that the most difficult think is to find what works for you, what is it that you can do to get results. and i think i found mine.
It is not just that i fast, it would be very unwise to bank it all on fasting, i also start walking regularly since six month ago (more that 50 miles per month every month since May), i control my portion a lot better, and i make sure every second day one of my meal is a Huge bowl of leafy greens.
But all of those changes were to some extend triggered by my cleans.Anyway i thought it was worth mentioning.
So today is day 7 still have 3 days to go wish me luck i think this might just be my best most complete cleanse ever.

          lemonade diet day – 8

Alright, not doing so well, very tiered. i just can’t stop thinking about soup and bread and cheese and green olives.
i also realize i am not drinking as much of the lemonade as i should. i guess the lack of lemonade is creating the bad cravings and the bad cravings makes me not wanna drink the lemonade. a very bad circle.
On a completely different note i am happy i made it to day 8.
maybe the gym will get rid of that felling like it did on day 4.

    Day 1- Lemonade diet
so today was my first day of the master cleanse, so far so good. I’m feeling slightly light headed. I am still recovering from the salt water flush…I’m about to have my last liter of the concoction. I am hoping to keep this going for the next week, if I’m still coping I’ll continue, my goal is 25 days but depending on my progress.

Living with 3 flatmates who love cooking is making things slightly difficult and terribly tempting for me. I’m constantly tempted to open the fridge and devour the entire contents of the fridge. But the results of the cleanse keep me going, its funny how my sense of smell is so intense now… crossed fingers

    Ease-Out – Day 3 …

I am pleased to say that the dermatitis is not so red and angry today. The Coconut Oil seems to be working quite well. I have also started taking all of my vitamins again and a probiotic. So, these combined are hopefully making me better.

Apparently this is something that shall never go away, but something that can be triggered by all sorts of different things; Spicy foods, the heat, stress, dairy… So something I am going to need to spend time on and learn about.
I just wish that I didn’t look like someone had just smothered strawberries over my face each time it flares up :)

Weight-wise, I still have a flat stomach, but can imagine i’ve put a few lbs on since Day 1 of Easing Off. I’m not too bothered about it to be honest. I am more interested in being happy and healthy and in control of my eating habits.

I know this is something that will not happen over night, but something I need to work on everyday. I look forward to learning new things about food, health and the world.

    Life is a beautiful journey.
