Group Cleanse Support Topic: Psychological and Emotional Effects (My Experience)

This page is a Support Topic Page for The Psychological and Emotional Effects for our Master Cleanse Group Cleanse. Please check that page for details on our Quarterly Cleanses and our Individual Cleanses.
To learn more about the value of Group Cleansing, check out this report.

The Group Cleanse will not only give us the forum to support each other, doing The Master Cleanse together, but it also enables us to track our experiences by setting standards to the conversation. If we all just posted random thoughts we would get a lot less value from the comments. But if the comments are structured, and relevant by time and topic, we can gain even more insight, more quickly and more effectively. Therefore we ask participants to start and finish the Master Cleanse on the same dates.

This page is the place for participants in the The Master Cleanse Group Experience to post their daily entries. To post, simply leave a comment. You don’t have to be logged in to post. Please provide 100 words each day – don’t worry; that’s not that much. The paragraph below, for example, is 100 words.

What is going through your mind? We have thoughts that seem out of control when we are in our daily grind – many of these revolve around food. We may also feel stress that in turn causes us to eat, to have emotional reactions. Many people report feeling in more control while doing The Master Cleanse – alongside a sense of clarity. Do commercials about food drive you crazy? Are you more patient than ever?

If you are not participating, you can follow the post to get inspiration to try the cleanse or answer the most basic question: Is The Master Cleanse right for me?

Keep it simple, just talk in your own language about your daily experience. The more you are yourself, the more others will connect with you – and the more you can connect with what they are saying – which is what we want after all, a strong support network through a group experience.

If you haven’t yet, go ahead and register for the Group Cleanse to get our “Guided Cleanse Experience” email sequence timed to correspond with your registration and the important days as the come up during our scheduled group cleanses.

Though 15 years old is old enough, you should talk to your parents and seek more information about what TMC is and why it’s beneficial. Keep reading our site, and others, buy books, ask questions, join the Group Cleanse. Arm yourself with information, then you’ll know. There’s no rush I am sure. Wait until you feel confident it’s right for you.

I started the Master Cleanse 3 days ago. Joined a gym too!
I did it for spiritual reasons 1st and weight loss 2nd. I felt very strange yesterday in my bible study class. I felt like I was nervous and had some anxiety, but I attribute this to the new med for ADD. I didn’t take it today as I don’t This is my 3rd day. I started looking up info on fasting and found you and so glad to be here to share with others. Right now, I feel mentally fuzzy and tired, but I want to go to the gym and exercise.
After reading and listening to your tapes, I realize I’m not having enough lemonade every day. Only had 2 drinks yesterday because I was out and about and today I only had 1 and it 6pm. I’m going to go make one now. I’m using TABASCO, and hope that is ok in stead of the cayenne powder. Please let me know. So glad to get the info and meeting others who are doing this.

I’ve joined the group cleanse for support but started my actual lemonade fast yesterday, before I found this site. I’ve completed this cleanse successfully once (12 days) and have done a number of 3 day cleanses since.

Yesterday I drank so much liquid I became dizzy..not attributed to hunger (I know that feeling). Water intoxication is a thing.

Today is day 2 and I’m feeling decent. I know from previous experience that I do best if I anticipate hunger instead of wait for it, and see the drink as nectar. My biggest weakness is in the evenings..it’s when my hunger spikes but I also work in a fine dining restaurant filed with great cheeses, fresh breads, cioppinos… it’s funny how the monkey brain can convince you that if you don’t indulge in what’s tempting you now, the chance may never come again.

It’s just food little brain.. I heard once that hunger is real and appetite a product of the mind. It will all be there in spades when we finish, but notes the time for sharper edges. Your sense of smell will heighten within days, your eyesight as well, not to mention your hip bones :) I find that I can feel so much more with all of my senses after a few days.

    Good luck everyone!

Day one of the Ease in. Right now I am feeling kind of scared. I am scared that I am going to fail. I am constantly on the MC site daily reading everything. I know fear is false evidence appearing real. I know that a failure fails because they didn’t try. Even though this is overwhelming to me, I refuse to give up. I have too much at stake. I can beat and I will beat this thing. I am more than a conqueror. You told us to speak our turn feelings and I am doing just that. I am not going into this to fail. I am going into this to overcome. My mind knows this is the right thing to do. But my body is warring against it. But we are going to line up and do this.

Just starting the cleanse tonight . Drink smooth move tea . I’m very excited and looking forward to it . I tried it last week but only got one and a half days . I did not do the salt water in the morning or the tea at night . Following it exactly now . Feeling like I really need to fast from food and break greed pattern and other unhealthy patterns in my life . Looking forward to becoming closer with God and more clear minded .

day 1 starts on Thursday. I’ve done this once before successfully (about 3-4 years ago) and the results were fantastic: more energy, more control over food and cravings, eliminated bad skin and cellulite, shinier hair, zero bloating. However, every time I start now I can’t seem to get past day 3. It might be a matter of preparation and also social events. My boyfriend’s family has us over almost every weekend and our visits are centered around food. We are going camping this weekend on Saturday and it will be difficult (will have to make my lemonade in the AM and bring my tea for at night). Do you think it would be better to start on Monday? I’m glad there is a forum to post my progress as my boyfriend does not support this (thinks I am starving myself).

This is my third cleanse. So far, so good. Having major psychological food cravings but no actual hunger. I have realized how much of my life involves food! I love to cook, its kind of a hobby, and any get togethers involve food of some kind. Its tough! Hope I make it through the weekend. I’m already on Day 5. I can’t mess this up.

Oh yeah I have a new side effect this time. Bad breath and dry tongue, I can barely stand it my self! Sorry, its a little personal but thats what this is for right?

I had already begun the journey before being offered the group sessions. But I wanted to restart with the group. So, let’s start by saying I don’t sleep well at all. My mind is not really focus for wanting a nap somewhere along the day. Emotionally I feel droopy sometimes, pretty sure it’s coming from a lack of sleep. At 5pm I got an oral feeling tough to fight it, so I hope a piece of sugarless gum is okay.

Feel like if I ran a marathon, I need to go rest and take a 10 day nap. Surprisingly I am not hungry but I really would like to go over the dread period.
