Support Topic: The Process and The Lemonade Diet

This page is a Support Topic Page for The Process and The Lemonade Diet for our Master Cleanse Group Cleanse. Please check that page for details on our Quarterly Cleanses and our Individual Cleanses.

The Group Cleanse will not only give us the forum to support each other, doing The Master Cleanse together, but it also enables us to track our experiences by setting standards to the conversation. If we all just posted random thoughts we would get a lot less value from the comments. But if the comments are structured, and relevant by time and topic, we can gain even more insight, more quickly and more effectively. Therefore we ask participants to start and finish the Master Cleanse on the same dates.

This page is the place for participants in the The Master Cleanse Group Experience to post their daily entries. To post, simply leave a comment. You don’t have to be logged in to post. Please provide 100 words each day – don’t worry; that’s not that much. The paragraph below, for example, is 100 words.

The Master Cleanse is a process. And it’s more than just making the lemonade diet drink each time you’re hungry. To successfully get through a protocol like this you need to consciously into a process, a routine so that you come to depend on what’s next. For example, first thing, SWF, next perhaps your normal morning routine, followed by the eliminations from the SWF. Once those start you can have your first lemonade. Maybe you want 4 lemonades by lunch, and 6 after. When is your peppermint tea break? Do you workout during the day? How do you manage work schedule? You get the point.

What is the process you go through to make your Lemonade each day? Do you have any tips? How are you changing this process, if at all, over time? Do you use 2 chugabbles or make 1 glass at a time like Stanley Burroughs suggested. What alternatives to the Lemonade Diet have you used *(Check for generally accepted practices). Do you add anything to the process like Psyllium or Bentonite? How do you manage your day? Do you do make the Lemonade in the morning? Do you sip it all day or take big gulps when your most hungry?

If you are not participating, you can follow the post to get inspiration to try the cleanse or answer the most basic question: Is The Master Cleanse right for me?

Keep it simple, just talk in your own language about your daily experience. The more you are yourself, the more others will connect with you – and the more you can connect with what they are saying – which is what we want after all, a strong support network through a group experience.

If you haven’t yet, go ahead and register for the Group Cleanse to get our “Guided Cleanse Experience” email sequence timed to correspond with your registration and the important days as the come up during our scheduled group cleanses.

    Lemonade Diet – Day 9 …

Over the past 5 days, I have been hand juicing my lemons.
I did start juicing them in the juicer, but I found that the taste was much more bitter than it is by hand juicing. It’s possibly because some of the white of the lemon is left on when you juice it, who knows :)

Today I decided to do the 2 Lemonades at a time again. As I said yesterday, I find that it fills me up much better than 1 every 2-3 hours does.
Also, having a sweet tooth, for some reason I find 4 tbsp of Maple Syrup in 500ml of water tastes sweeter than 2 tbsp in 250ml.

    The small things :)

Today is going to be a shorter post because I have an event to attend.
    Here’s to Day 10!!! Eeeekk…

    Lemonade Diet – Day 8 –

So close I can almost Taste the finish line! haha I know only a day or two ago I was saying I can’t ever imagine doing the cleanse longer than 10 days… but I actually CAN imagine it now. Funny how that changes. I just feel like WOW, I’ve come so far, made it past all the “hard days” … why stop?!

But I am going to stop at 10. and I’m blaming it on this trip we’re taking this weekend. I haven’t decided yet if that’s a good excuse, or totally just an excuse, but I’m really proud of my progress throughout this cleanse! and who knows, maybe I’ll just do it again soon. I wonder what the first week would be like if I did it again right away?

Will definitely do it again though :)

Day 8 Lemonade Diet – First time master cleanse – The Lemonade and the Process. I don’t mean to bring up the Grade A and Grade B syrup thing again, but I have another observation. With the Grade A syrup being thinner, the lemonade went down more quickly and while that was a nice change it poses another problem. If it is easier to drink, then it’s easier to drink a lot of. ? The Grade B syrup makes you drink it more slowly, it’s like you HAVE to think while you drink, and I believe that leads to becoming more aware or more present in your own participation in that action and in the Master Cleanse process.

Lol Melissa. I could easily drink a lot of both – Grade A and B!!… Terrible for that I am :)

    Lemonade– Day 6, 7, 8

The Process & The Lemonade – During the weekend, it was easier to make a glass or two at a time. I’ve grown pretty accustom to the taste, and I do not have to dilute it as much. I still take a few extra cayenne capsules. I measured them and they are ¼ teaspoon each. It’s a nice easy, less painful way to take in a little more. As a matter of fact, I finally googled the benefits of cayenne and found this amazing site: http://www.cayennepepper.info/ . This was inspiring find for my continuance. I finally started using a hand held lemon press. It is an invaluable tool versus hand squeezing. If I start to feel hungry, I’ll have a large glass of water before I decide to go make the juice. The green tea has sure come in handy during social situations too. I do not often drink green tea, but when I do, it is a nice change ( using The Most Interesting Man in the World voice.)

    Lemonade Diet – Day 8 …

A much, much easier day today.
A week today was Day 1 for me – It feels like a lifetime ago – We are so close to the finishing line.

Today, I had a mini lie in and by the time I got up, I decided to do something slightly different.
I woke really quite hungry, so instead of my usual 1 glass of Lemonade, I made 2.
I used 4 tbsp Lemon Juice, 4 tbsp Maple Syrup, 1/5th tsp Cayenne Pepper and 500ml of Pure Water.
By the time I had finished it, I felt so full and happy and that feeling lasted me about 5 hours! Just sipping water in between. Before I knew it, it was lunch time and as I found myself making my bf’s lunch, I figured, “Why don’t I stick to 3 meals a day of double portions?”, so prepared my lunch the same way I had my breakfast.
My plan worked out amazingly – No hunger cravings, no nothing.

I shall definitely be trying that again tomorrow – something a bit new.

I also vowed myself today to no extra Maple Syrup… and succeeded! :)

Making the Lemonade as I go again is still proving to be a much fresher and tastier way to go. I won’t be going back to the concentrate again, unless I have to.

Day 7 Lemonade Diet – First time master cleanse – The Lemonade and the Process. So today I made two 32oz bottles and one 24oz bottle of the lemonade. I packed 3.5 lemons, Cayenne pepper, knife, measuring spoons, and yes, you guessed it, I remembered the maple syrup. I’ve downgraded to Type A maple syrup until I get to the Whole Foods tomorrow. Type A is thinner than type B. It’s good, don’t get me wrong, but there is a difference.

Liz Nicole, I still can’t believe you had to pay $100.00 for your maple syrup and I feel silly for even noticing the difference between Grade A and Grade B maple syrup. I feel like mailing you some. Lol. I told my mom and older brother today about you having to pay that much and their hearts go out to you. ?

Hahaha!!! It will last me a lifetime though – there is 60oz of it.

Also, being in Australia, it was probably imported from the US, so it’s probably to cover that cost too.
I was so desperate to get some though, I just didn’t care about the price – silly me hey?! :)

    Lemonade Diet – Day 7 – |

Here we are! Day 7! and I am still going strong … except for the water chestnut that I accidentally nibbled as I was cutting up food to freeze for next week! I didn’t know what this strange vegetable was that came in my Bountiful Baskets order this week. So I was taking pictures and posting them on facebook, asking my friends if they knew what it was. A friend suggested I cut it open and taste it. I cut it open, took another photo and kinda touched my tongue to it – but it didn’t taste like anything. I didn’t eat it because I’m fasting … so my hubby tried it and suggested it was a water chestnut. So later as I was finishing preparing all these veggies, I went back to the water chestnut and as I was cutting it up a small sliver wound up in my mouth!! I suddenly realized what had happened and spit it out and was wiping my tongue off like a goofball!! hahaha! I’m sure I looked really cool. ;-)

and once again I’m struck by how much food must end up in my system without my conscience thought. That’s so disturbing!

:) hahaha. Yeah I was thinking the same thing when I was babysitting. It’s really easy to just nibble without thinking. I almost ate a little cube of cheese that I had cut up for my niece and I was really surprised how easy it was NOT to notice.

    Lemonade Diet Day 7

Ugh. I cheated. Why? Lack of preparation.

I went shopping with my boyfriend yesterday. I drank a lemonade before I left the hourse and took one with me. I drank that before we made it the second store! I don’t like the cayenne to sit because it gets spicier and spicier. So we ran a little long on the shopping and I had to be to work at 3:30pm. I didn’t have time to stop home to grab my juice kit.

Well I thought I’d be ok. I would fill up on water and have some decaf green tea if I needed it. Well my blood sugar plummetted an hour into my shift and I was TIRED. I guzzled my water and that didn’t help. I had to train someone and I was grouchy all of a sudden.

I decided to eat some crackers. And I did. I ate them slowly and chewed them. And I regretted it. I immediately felt sore in my back. I should have known better especially after eating nothing for 6 days.

But I’m back on track now. After having those crackers I realize that food is overrated. And I’m content to continue the MC.

    Lemonade Diet – Day 7 …

Today I decided as it’s the weekend, that I would make the Lemonade as I go – It tastes so much fresher and sweeter… Definitely doing it this way from now on.

My morning went well, preparation wise. Afternoon – was bad! – Okay hear me out.

We needed to go out shopping today, so at midday we left and I didn’t take any concentrate with me (as I usually would) because I am making them as I go today. I wasn’t hungry, had a bottle of water with me, so felt fine.
2 and a bit hours later, BANG! It honestly just crept up on me from nowhere – I was ravenous. My bf wanted to go to Boost Juice, so whilst looking at their menu, I saw they did freshly squeezed juices. I figured, how bad would it be, if I just ask for Lemon with a tiny bit of Orange?! – It was lovely, but I can tell they over did the Oranges as it should have been really bitter.
    I felt bad afterwards.
Secondly, to put the icing on the cake, I yet again found myself ‘drinking’ the Maple Syrup. Literally pouring it onto a spoon and straight into my mouth. It’s obviously giving me a huge sugar rush, which is making it addictive. I have really got to stop. So, not 100% happy with myself today.

I did buy some soups though for my Ease Out Day 2 – I have frozen them, I am so excited :))))

3 more days to go – I must thoroughly focus!

    Lemonade Diet – Day 6 –

Yippee!! I can’t wait! We’re getting sooooo close to our 10 day goal! I’m excited because tomorrow, day 7, is the day I eased out on the last time I did the cleanse. and I can tell you – that’s not going to happen this time around!

As for today, I did a much better job planning ahead and brought my “concentrate” along with me when I had to leave the house. I didn’t feel like I let myself get super hungry today. But I did feel pretty worn out when I got home.

I have started looking at pictures of food online — drool!! I just love looking for new recipes when I’m fasting! Tomorrow or the next day I’m going to try making a menu plan for when I start eating foods again. I do much better when I have a plan.
