Group Cleanse Support Topic: Psychological and Emotional Effects (My Experience)

This page is a Support Topic Page for The Psychological and Emotional Effects for our Master Cleanse Group Cleanse. Please check that page for details on our Quarterly Cleanses and our Individual Cleanses.
To learn more about the value of Group Cleansing, check out this report.

The Group Cleanse will not only give us the forum to support each other, doing The Master Cleanse together, but it also enables us to track our experiences by setting standards to the conversation. If we all just posted random thoughts we would get a lot less value from the comments. But if the comments are structured, and relevant by time and topic, we can gain even more insight, more quickly and more effectively. Therefore we ask participants to start and finish the Master Cleanse on the same dates.

This page is the place for participants in the The Master Cleanse Group Experience to post their daily entries. To post, simply leave a comment. You don’t have to be logged in to post. Please provide 100 words each day – don’t worry; that’s not that much. The paragraph below, for example, is 100 words.

What is going through your mind? We have thoughts that seem out of control when we are in our daily grind – many of these revolve around food. We may also feel stress that in turn causes us to eat, to have emotional reactions. Many people report feeling in more control while doing The Master Cleanse – alongside a sense of clarity. Do commercials about food drive you crazy? Are you more patient than ever?

If you are not participating, you can follow the post to get inspiration to try the cleanse or answer the most basic question: Is The Master Cleanse right for me?

Keep it simple, just talk in your own language about your daily experience. The more you are yourself, the more others will connect with you – and the more you can connect with what they are saying – which is what we want after all, a strong support network through a group experience.

If you haven’t yet, go ahead and register for the Group Cleanse to get our “Guided Cleanse Experience” email sequence timed to correspond with your registration and the important days as the come up during our scheduled group cleanses.

Tomorrow is the day I will really be checking my body out for changes. We went to Walmart and bought a juicer tonight so that we can take it camping with us. We have an RV. On our way to California.

Today I definitely feel more sip than any other day. I was up before 5:30am (voluntarily) and alert. Made breakfast for everyone and basically had the best start to the day. This may be TMI ( but seeing as talked about BM what the heck)- this morning I had sex with my hubby and my vagina was so much more sensitive than it had ever been. I guess I detoxed down there too! I’ll take it. I’m almost temped to go a few more days but nah-….. those oranges and veggie stock are looking way too good.
My husband is going to go DF/GF/Sugar free with me for the next week…. hopefully I can get him to stretch that to 3 week with me!

Today I’ve been so busy but noticed that my coworker was eating a sandwich. There were other foods that were around but it was the sandwich that sang. I really am looking forward to my sandwich next week. My SO makes delicious veggie sandwiches. Today was easier than yesterday, looking forward to tomorrow evening so I can start thinking about my OJ. I have all day tomorrow to get through, almost there. Oh, I finally get that lighter feeling that everyone is talking about. I’m on a higher vibration.

Spent 8 hours in the car today, drove through some pretty heavy lake effect snow. Usually I get bored and tried and eat Twizzlers to stay awake – this time I just drank my lemonade! Took plenty with. Only time I felt tempted was when my boys brought home Taco Bell. For a moment I thought “boy that smells good!”. Then I remembered how sick I felt after eating some of their food, and it didn’t smell good anymore!

Well day 9 is going much better than day 8! Not obsessing over meals etc. I have discovered something about myself though- I have a less healthy relationship with food than I realized. During this cleanse I sometimes wake up feeling groggy, or puffy or less than 100%. When I am eating normally, which is a 90 % clean diet, and I wake up with these things I immediately dissect whatever I had to eat the previous day and then label it as “bad”. I realized today, that being on the cleanse doesn’t mean I will bound out of bed every morning and that I need to understand that sometimes my body will just be slow or puffy or whatever. It’s not a punishment for having something tasty, it is just the way it is. I need to stop looking for perfection and be satisfied that I am cleaning, eating well and yes enjoying a glass of wine with chocolate at times!

This morning I cleaned out my pantry in preparation for 1. The Whole30, and 2. My oldest daughter moving out. I gave her all the food I didn’t want! The rest of us are going to eat more healthy! As I discussed this with my other daughter, who is a vegetarian but eats more carbs than anything else, I realized that this next step will really not be difficult for me. I feel like, for the first time in my life, I have overcome my body. I have been able to control my cravings, not give in to the emotional, binge crazy feeding frenzies I have been having! Instead of telling myself “you deserve that piece of cheesecake” I am saying”you deserve to be healthy”!

When I said to her that I felt like i was finally in control of my body, she said “what are you, a monk now? Can you levitate? Try it!”

Melinda- I am there with you today! I don’t know if it has anything to do with age… I am 43. I felt I was in the zone until my Goddaughter and I went for her birthday shopping trip and I couldn’t even join her in a smoothie…. ugh. Then I had to meal plan and go grocery shopping. I am missing meals today. I just want to sit down and eat a fabulous meal with my family. But I won’t today. Instead I will drink lemonade, pray for time to speed up, go to bed and wake up and it will be day 9!!! Thats my plan and I am sticking with it lol.
I have planned a date night with my hubby for Sunday night! I will have to find somewhere GF and I am going to enjoy every bite!

I think I am just getting weary with the MC. Lemonade, blah, water, blah, tea, blah. I also wonder if I’m the oldest person doing this cleanse. Maybe it’s hard in part because I am not young and my body is used to the way it’s been up to this point. It could also be that I typically have symptoms this time of year with less sunshine and shorter daylight times. Blah to the gray skies.
