Group Cleanse Support Topic: Weight Loss and Physical Results

This page is a Support Topic Page for Weight Loss and Physical Results for our Master Cleanse Group Cleanse. Please check that page for details on our Quarterly Cleanses and our Individual Cleanses.

The Group Cleanse will not only give us the forum to support each other, doing The Master Cleanse together, but it also enables us to track our experiences by setting standards to the conversation. If we all just posted random thoughts we would get a lot less value from the comments. But if the comments are structured, and relevant by time and topic, we can gain even more insight, more quickly and more effectively. Therefore we ask participants to start and finish the Master Cleanse on the same dates.

This page is the place for participants in the The Master Cleanse Group Experience to post their daily entries. To post, simply leave a comment. You don’t have to be logged in to post. Please provide 100 words each day – don’t worry; that’s not that much. The paragraph below, for example, is 100 words.

Weight Loss – Even though The Lemonade Diet is about so much more that weight loss, it is still an effective reduction diet. Weigh yourself each day. How much weight did you lose today? Are you happy or disappointing with the results? What were your expectations? Some people loose weight the day they start The Lemonade Diet. Some people don’t lose weight until well into the diet. Describe your daily experiences.

Physical – Talk about the way your body is reacting to the cleanse. Do you feel full of energy? Do you feel like you have a cold? Headaches on Day 2 but feeling great on day 8? Think about it, how do you feel today? Just pretend you are talking to your best friend and complaining about the hard parts and raving about the good.

If you are not participating, you can follow the post to get inspiration to try the cleanse or answer the most basic question: Is The Master Cleanse right for me?

Keep it simple, just talk in your own language about your daily experience. The more you are yourself, the more others will connect with you – and the more you can connect with what they are saying – which is what we want after all, a strong support network through a group experience.

    Soooo happy I decided to do the SWF and continue on with the same 1 TB of cayenne today…that combination and along with my bowels being looser – zooooom!

    Lemonade Day 5

    When I got up this morning I felt considerably less bloated than in the past. It feels like my tummy is shrinking..WIN! I also wake up less groggy due to a more restful nights sleep. I’m getting a brand new King size bed delivered this afternoon – so that will make my nights even better!

    Yesterday I got busy at work and didn’t go for my afternoon walk. I was disappointed but it couldn’t be helped. I was thinking that I should buy a small stepper to keep at my desk for these types of occasions. They can be pricey and have a weight limit so I will need to get down to that before I buy one–wouldn’t want to break it the first day…LOL!

    I think, rather than jumping into a exercise “regimen” I will take the smaller steps of walking at least a half hour at the trails around my office. My brother has a stationary bike that I could probably borrow since he’s gone most of the week. I will try to get Sergio to accompany me on longer weekend walks. I’d love to take a martial arts class with him too!

    This cleanse will be my springboard into the type of active lifestyle I need and want.

    Lemonade day 4

    Yay day 4 is closing in now, another late night, had a night at friends house and there was lots of talk about the cleanse, other cleanses and food…lol!!! got on the topics of foods, thankful it really isn’t affecting me at all. Thank goodness. mind over matter:)
    Was really tired and weak feeling today, took a really slow, mellow day today, haven’t done classes of any sort last few days, just hasn’t worked out. tried to go to meditation tonight, but I was too distracted with my belly making noises which is strange, been doing that all evening now, can’t figure out why.
    I feel a little lighter today, feeling like maybe a bit has come off, which is a nice feeling.
    I went for a few little walks today in the cold, would have like a nice big one, but didn’t get out for that. I like to pat myself on the back for the little achievments in the day, otherwise I find Im too hard on myself and thats no good! here is a full few days of classes now, so hope for lots of energy and feel good tomorrow!

    day4 I made it this far y’all only six more days to go hope I make today I weight at 266 it seems like 2lb a day that fine with me something better than nothing feeling energized so I clean around the house and I cooked but I did not eat hurray me I am so proud of me

    When I decided to do this cleanse, I bought all the ingredients necessary to start the Cleanse on January 15th.

    On Monday January 14th I decided to pull out my Wii board and turn on the Wii Plus to weigh myself. I dont have a regular scale but the game does have a weight and BMI check component so I use that.

    Well, low and behold I got on the board and the silly voice pronounced that i was “overweight” and the screen showed that my BMI was 26…and recommended for my height and weight I should be at 22 BMI… I was in complete shock. I thought to my self it must have been the salad and the soup I ate for dinner that was causing the scale to indicate that reading. The weight indicated I was 172 lbs. I could not believe what I was seeing. I felt so terrible that I had gotten to that weight and had no idea that I had gained so much over the past 3 months. I took a train journey across the country in October and I am sure I weighed around 155lbs then. I am 5’8″, so I have been told that is a good weight.

    Anyway, I decided to weight myself again on the morning of the first day of the cleanse. So before I did my saltwater flush, I removed my clothes and stepped on the board and reality hit, it really was not the salad or the soup. The BMI registered 25.6 and the weight was 170. I immediately knew that the weight was the reason I was having trouble with my breathing when I did my daily run/walks.

    I love to run and decided at the beginning of the year I would start running again. I started out with 2 miles per day and have reached 6 miles per day but it is not easy and I feel winded when finished with the run. I know that 170 is not my running weight. As a matter of fact it is far from it. I feel best around 140.

    I made a decision that I will not weight myself until I have completed the first 5 days. I need to get to the hump day. I tried doing some running yesterday but was not feeling the level of energy I know i need to do that much running. But I promised myself I would run on Saturday god willing. I will also take a look at that Wii board again… I might even play a game or two on Friday. Just so that I dont feel like I am afraid of the board…(smile). In the meantime I am lifting 5lb weights to help tone my arms.

    So, I am hoping that on Saturday I will have something to report on the weight. I am so motivated to see this cleanse thru to the end…those 170lbs scared me..really, they did!

    Lemonade Day 4

    My period hit me this morning. Albeit gently and with very little warning. I am happy I had very few PMS symptoms to deal with this time around. I hope that those nasty toxins being gone from my body had something to do with that. Before age 30 I had almost no discomfort before getting my period. After age 30, I discovered what all the pill commercials were talking about. It stands to reason that the accumulation of toxins in the body, if they don’t cause those symptoms, they most certainly do not help!

    I also decided that I wouldn’t bother to weigh myself until after my period is done. The reading won’t be accurate anyway due to the water retention.

    I have a slight back ache right now, but nothing a little walking won’t cure. Overall, my gut is throwing a party every day. It happily kicks out toxic guests whenever necessary. I am sleeping more soundly. The proper hydration is helping. My feet are getting back to normal instead of feeling like cement weights. The range of motion in my ankles is better. The fluid retention in my legs is down.

    All signs point to: SUCCESS

    day 3 of mc been feeling energized since I started I was 277lb now I am 268lb and I am very proud of myself I am not exercising cause when I do it makes me hungry I think I will wait until the next week to start then I will no for sure I have the power like she-ra so everybody keep up the good work

    Lemonade Day 3 5:30pm

    Today I worked a longer day then I thought, I thought I would make it to the pool/rec centre for twoonie time( which is my deal, if its a twoonie, its a go) but I tried and was rushing at work, and then got super hungry, didn’t have enough drinks today, then a little burst of anger, and I decided that it wasn’t worth rushing, I am hoping to make it to a yoga class tonight, cause my body has missed moving the last few days! I need to have that as a regular day to day thing. I did walk home yesterday, today I brought my car cause I had to, to do some deliveries for work. And Im not home early enough to go for a walk in the light, and I can’t kick my chill, unless I get in a hot bath, which I did last night then straight to cozy bed. my body is feeling very tired and sore, I think it just needs to move healthily, get some nice stretches in!!! havent been eliminating much in bowel movements so I don’t believe I have lost much weight, I don’t feel much different yet…it’ll come!

    Lemonade Day 3

    I am happy to report that I am decidedly slimmer today than when I first started 5 days ago. I finally got a hold of a scale and took my weight. Sergio also hopped on and he’s at a healthy number. Me – not so much – but I’ve improved.

    When I went to the doctor last November, I got weighed in and was shocked into action. According to last night’s number I’m 15 lbs less now. Although I don’t know how much of that has come off in the past five days, I am happy to know that I am on the right track. My coat now closes around my mid-section and feels more roomy in general. I also notice that I get up from my chair without groaning and I wake up in the morning a lot more bushy-tailed. Today I had no trouble getting up at 5:45am to heat up my water for the SWF.

    In winter time, and due to circulation problems, I would often get cramps in my legs at night. I’d get woken up by excruciating pain in my calf or calves and the spasm would last an eternity. A couple nights ago I did get a leg cramp but it wasn’t nearly as strong and lasted only 15 or 30 seconds. The improved circulation and hydration are sure helping. I also am sleeping better at night.

    I went for another walk for “lunch” yesterday and felt more energy. Although I was still tired after my half hour, I had a bit more bounce in my step. I vow to keep going out during and after my cleanse.

    Now, my biggest fear, is backsliding into old habits once the cleanse is over. In a way, being on the cleanse is like going to rehab. It’s comforting to know that you don’t have to worry about the outside world of food. You know the rules and what is expected of you. And you have marked moments of improvement. It’s all very trackable.

    I will need to start formulating my plan for my reintroduction to food but pronto!

    current weight 138lbs
    Activity high I hit the gym daily for cardio weight training and yoga
    Im not in shape I am prior Army military ETS 2010 I just started working out in December my goal is too get within 15-18% body fat Im at 32% now
    My church is doing a time of fasting so while weight loss is a personal goal , spiritual and mental clarity if the ultimate

      wow Candis
      that’s pretty good.. are you working our while doing the cleanse? Are you male or female? just trying to compare for myself (I am female) for weight loss purposes.
      I’m starting the cleanse weighing in this morning at 155 (I’m 5″3″). Would love to get down to 145 or 140!
