Group Cleanse Support Topic: Weight Loss and Physical Results

This page is a Support Topic Page for Weight Loss and Physical Results for our Master Cleanse Group Cleanse. Please check that page for details on our Quarterly Cleanses and our Individual Cleanses.

The Group Cleanse will not only give us the forum to support each other, doing The Master Cleanse together, but it also enables us to track our experiences by setting standards to the conversation. If we all just posted random thoughts we would get a lot less value from the comments. But if the comments are structured, and relevant by time and topic, we can gain even more insight, more quickly and more effectively. Therefore we ask participants to start and finish the Master Cleanse on the same dates.

This page is the place for participants in the The Master Cleanse Group Experience to post their daily entries. To post, simply leave a comment. You don’t have to be logged in to post. Please provide 100 words each day – don’t worry; that’s not that much. The paragraph below, for example, is 100 words.

Weight Loss – Even though The Lemonade Diet is about so much more that weight loss, it is still an effective reduction diet. Weigh yourself each day. How much weight did you lose today? Are you happy or disappointing with the results? What were your expectations? Some people loose weight the day they start The Lemonade Diet. Some people don’t lose weight until well into the diet. Describe your daily experiences.

Physical – Talk about the way your body is reacting to the cleanse. Do you feel full of energy? Do you feel like you have a cold? Headaches on Day 2 but feeling great on day 8? Think about it, how do you feel today? Just pretend you are talking to your best friend and complaining about the hard parts and raving about the good.

If you are not participating, you can follow the post to get inspiration to try the cleanse or answer the most basic question: Is The Master Cleanse right for me?

Keep it simple, just talk in your own language about your daily experience. The more you are yourself, the more others will connect with you – and the more you can connect with what they are saying – which is what we want after all, a strong support network through a group experience.

If you haven’t yet, go ahead and register for the Group Cleanse to get our “Guided Cleanse Experience” email sequence timed to correspond with your registration and the important days as the come up during our scheduled group cleanses.

I wanted to take off only 10 lbs, but even more I wanted to reset my body (hormones, organs, etc). I know from research that no matter what I see on the outside, major things are taking place on the inside. I wasn’t going to weigh everyday, but I have. I will be thrilled with whatever Day 10 tells me. The biggest thing for me will be how I live and eat afterwards. I know I will be going back to a plant-based way of eating. I was vegan for 3-4 yrs and then we had an urgent family matter that lasted several years. I was forced to put aside veganism. Doing this cleanse was my way of jump-starting my launch back to a healthy way of life.

I still have not weighed myself because I know from past experience that if I haven’t lost weight I will become discouraged and will be more tempted to just give up. I don’t want to give up, and I don’t want to become hyper-focused on the number of pounds I’ve gained or lost. I’m excited for people who are seeing the weight come off! I will weigh myself at the end of the cleanse. Is there an average amount of weight that people lose?

Anywhere from 4-15 lbs is normal.

Day 6- I weigh 5lbs less from when I started. My body has lost inches, I really need to do more physical activity. I’m not that active at the moment and restorative yoga may be a good thing for me. I feel pretty clear and focused and my body just needs to move more.

DAY #6 – I am still here! I didn’t think I would make it this far, but I have been bolstered by your comments and support. I am down almost 10lbs! My stomach is better today, but yesterday I started with cold symptoms. It seems late to be starting with new symptoms. Is that typical?

Thank you, Cathy, for your words of wisdom. I drank a lot more plain water yesterday and that made a difference. I am also not forcing myself to drink the lemonade as much as I was the 4th day. I was convinced that I had to drink a gallon a day – that is A LOT! Now I drink when I hungry.

I am down another pound since yesterday…. I am supposed to go shopping today so I need to remember to buy stuff a little loose as this is not my normal weight!
Cathy- seeing as you have done this before…. do you find that the weight stays off or does it pile right back on…. I am hoping to come back to my healthy body weight and maintain with my clean eating and small portions.
How is everyone else doing with the weight loss- and do you have a plan in place to keep losing or maintain? I’d love to hear what has worked for you before

In my own experience, the weight has stayed off.

You know that when the body is trying to fight the results you know are eminent, that the flush is working. The scale’s number doesn’t phase me in the least. IT IS WORKING.

I am down 7 lbs since starting the cleanse. I feel better than yesterday, but still feel this “pressure” in my stomach. Not bloating, more like heartburn that is worse than previously. Cathy spoke about acids being eliminated in a previous post (maybe on another board), but I have to admit it is a little scary to feel this way. If I had an ulcer, would this make it worse? I’m a worse case scenario kind of person.

As I mentioned previously, my goal was to get to day 5, which I have done. Now, I will just take it day by day and see how far I get!

Jennifer, it might interest you to know that TMC was invented by a man (Stanley Burroughs) who was a naturopath, for one of his patients to heal his ulcers. Do some research on cayenne and you will find that inside the body, it is very healing. And by the way, it did cure the mans ulcers.

Very cool Melinda. The key to eating healthy is to always be prepared. On your days off wash, cut and chop all your fruit and veg. Have it ready to go in containers and and baggies. That way, when you go home hungry you can reach for something healthy.
Email me at drmaryosfitness@gmail.com and I will send you on a few recipes:)

Cathy- YAY for you and the scale!! I am good on the weight. Lost 0.3 of a pound only which I am ok with. HOWEVER, I know my body too….. I have a feeling my weight will take a dump any day now……I have noticed my clothes feeling much looser so I know the inches are coming off

The barrier broke yesterday and my body is losing weight again. I pretty much knew this would happen. I was in the powder room a lot yesterday.

I am interested in healthy recipes as well, so if you are willing to share them that would be great. One of my challenges is time constraints in the evening. By the time I get home from work I sometimes am so hungry I could chew my own arm off! I need food I can prepare quickly and still have it be healthy. Yesterday I learned about a product called Instant Pot (it functions as a slow cooker, rice cooker, yogurt maker, pressure cooker, food warmer, saute/browning pan, and steamer) and is programmable for ease of use. Then I tracked down a lot of Instant Pot recipes that various bloggers, etc. have posted and started an Instant Pot board on Pinterest. I have 74 pins already, so I’m pretty excited about using this product after the cleanse. I ordered it yesterday from Amazon and chose shipping that should have it delivered to me right around the time I finish the cleanse.

My husband LOVES his instant pot! He uses it almost everyday, and gave all my family one for Christmas. I have not yet used it – he does most of the cooking. I didn’t think about looking for Paleo recipes to use in the Instant Pot – I will do that tonight!

Jennifer I saw a lot of Paleo recipes for the Instant Pot online. Are you on Pinterest? I bet a search for Instant Pot Paleo recipes would help you find a lot.
