Group Cleanse Support Topic: Detox and The Salt Water Flush (My Experience)

This page is a Support Topic Page for the Topic of Detox and The Salt Water Flush for our Master Cleanse Group Cleanse. Please check that page for details on our Quarterly Cleanses and our Individual Cleanses.

The Group Cleanse will not only give us the forum to support each other, doing The Master Cleanse together, but it also enables us to track our experiences by setting standards to the conversation. If we all just posted random thoughts we would get a lot less value from the comments. But if the comments are structured, and relevant by time and topic, we can gain even more insight, more quickly and more effectively. Therefore we ask participants to start and finish the Master Cleanse on the same dates.

This page is the place for participants in the The Master Cleanse Group Experience to post their daily entries. To post, simply leave a comment. You don’t have to be logged in to post. Please provide 100 words each day – don’t worry; that’s not that much. The paragraph below, for example, is 100 words.

Support Topic: Detox and The Salt Water Flush

The Salt Water Flush (SWF) might be the hardest part of the Master Cleanse, but it doesn’t have to be. It is essential to the cleanse because it facilitates the detox by flushing your system. What is working and what is not working. How are your movements? Are they successful? What do they look like? Are they getting lighter or darker? Are the becoming more frequent? Do you have other signs of detoxing, like breakouts or white tongue? The Master Cleanse is about Detox and daily eliminations are critical to the success of the cleanse. Is this Detox Diet successful so far?

Day 8 Lemonade Diet – First time master cleanse – Detox and the Saltwater Flush.
The saltwater flush was a little crazier today, not as controlled. It’s nothing that an Epson Salt bath can’t fix. I’m not sure the herbal tea would really do it for me if I didn’t do the saltwater flush. The SWF seems more thorough. I know that when I drank it this morning that it was going to be harder on me today than it has been the last couple of days. It just didn’t feel right going down. I’m not going to do it tomorrow because I have to go to the hospital with a friend who is getting an angioplasty and I’d rather not be wrestling with the Saltwater Flush.

    Lemonade – Day 6,7,8

Detox and Salt Water Flush – I had accident on day 6 because I paused when I felt it coming. Don’t pause!!! For real. It makes for some restless mornings. And oddly enough, being up and down for the first two hours (earlier than usual) doesn’t affect my activity during the day. Everything was still fine on day 6, but on day 7 I didn’t feel the same results as the previous mornings. It is like there was less flushing, although I drank the same amount of liquid. I also noticed that the laxative worked earlier in the morning than usual, but when I got up for the laxative result, it was so early that I didn’t do the SWF. I usually do the SWF upon the first elimination of the laxative work. Day 8, the laxative still worked earlier than usual, but I decided to do the SWF right away, since the day before didn’t work as well as I had hoped or expected. Today I did not have to eliminate as often, but the liquid amount seemed normal. The mixture is getting easier to take in, too. I still do the concentrated shot, then quickly drink the quart behind it.

    Lemonade Diet – Day 8 …

    2 more SWF’s to go :)

Today, I was quite tired when I initially rose, so got up to do my SWF and once finished (Before my first bowel movement) I went back to bed and actually fell asleep.
I couldn’t believe it myself, but I must have had a disturbing dream, because I woke with a jump. After checking the time, I had fell back to sleep for an hour and a half.
I couldn’t believe the SWF didn’t wake me. As soon as I stood up though, I had to go straight away.

It’s nice to know that my body can naturally control it’s automatic urge to expel. I mean in fairness, I really should have ‘wet’ the bed… Lol and I am lucky I didn’t.

So yeah, something a little different that happened to me today.

The SWF was again really easy to get down, I don’t even think about it now. I just drink it. The taste is bearable and if it wasn’t for the sheer volume of water you consume as you drink it, it would actually be boarder-lining pleasant … and I mean really boarder-lining – a tiny bit. Lol

Day 7 Lemonade Diet – First time master cleanse – Detox and the Saltwater Flush. Again, this morning I was a little late getting started with the saltwater flush, but I did some yoga and that seemed to help get everything moving. I was ready to go out and meet the day without any accidents. And again, I think being prepared for the day contributed greatly to that success. Even though I was kinda rushing to make the lemonade, feed the cats, clean the litter, do the dishes, do the yoga, get dressed and get out the door, I was more present in each one of those actions. I didn’t feel like I was rushing or becoming anxious. I felt like I was in step with it all. I was focused, but not obsessed.

    Lemonade Diet – Day 7 –

I enjoyed some maple-syrupy smooth move tea this morning instead of the salt water flush. Wow was that a nice relief! I have had a few bowel movements throughout the day as well, which hasn’t happened when I did the swf. So I guess the tea works too!

I’m sooooo happy to report that my peeling foot is mostly healed up, it’s looking great. Now we’ll see if it has another recurrence or if that was it’s final stand against me!

The rash on my face is still not visible, I don’t think. aaaand… I THINK it might be going away ever so slightly! I might just be wishing so much for it to leave that I’m imagining things, but it seems a little less prominent today. My fingers are crossed for tomorrow!!

    Lemonade Diet Day 7

I did not SWF this morning because I had church. Service is at 9:30 and I had to leave at 9. Definitely didn’t want to risk not having enough time and I didn’t want to be running to the potty every 5 minutes during service. So I opted to just not do it.

Yesterday I didn’t finish my eliminations until 3 hours after I drank the salt water. I’ve found the hard way that it’s really hard to hold in if you wait. If you have the urge, you need to GO!

After lastnight’s crackers I had diarrhea for the rest of the night so I wasn’t too worried about not having a BM this morning.

I will definitely do my Smooth Move tonight to get those bowels moving once again.

Lemonade Diet – Day 6 – 2nd MC – Detox and Salt Water Flush –

I am really impressed by all of you who are doing the SWF ritual. I did it when I did the MC earlier this year and I hated everything about it. So far I have just been doing the Smooth Move tea both morning and night and have not been able to convince myself to do the SWF. I’m thinking I should do it at least one day so I remember the agony and I’m sure it does some good things to clean you out that the tea will not accomplish.

    Day 7 – Lemonade Diet

Today was by far the easiest day for the salt water flush. Got it down with 3 very short breaks. Probably only took about a minute to get the whole thing down. I also find if I take a sip of water between those breaks it helps get rid of the salt taste for that short moment and I can tolerate drinking the salt water again. Plus, it is really working every morning, without fail. My tongue is still white but the sores (they developed on day 3) on it are starting to go away. When is my tongue supposed to be be pink again? Anyone know.

    Lemonade Diet – Day 7 …

Well there’s not much more I can think of to say abut the SWF process.

This morning I woke and completed the ritual at 6:30am and by 7:30am, I was done.
The taste is now a lot more bearable. I do it in 2 breaths, so drink half of my litre before coming up for air… Wait for 20 seconds and finish it off. The last drop is always the worst as it contains the settled undissolved bits of salt – Yuk!

I found that the colour of the ‘reaction’ was a little darker than usual – I can only imagine it is because I have been having too much maple syrup. I plan on upping my water consumption tomorrow and see if that makes a difference.

3 more SWF’s to go – Cannot wait!

    Lemonade Diet – Day 6 –

I did the salt water flush this morning and it took 2.5 hours to “finish”! what a pain! But oh well. it worked and I’m glad for that. I am planning on doing some laxative tea tomorrow to mix things up and just, honestly, have a break from the salt water. blech!

As far as detoxing – My foot did peel today. Unfortunately. The crack is still healing, and it hasn’t cracked again – but it did peel.

THIS RASH. UGH! I hate it!! I can feel all these tiny little pimple-like bumps alllll over my face. I’m just dreading the moment they’re visible as well. :( :( I thought the rash type symptom was supposed to show up right away, not on days 5 and 6!
