When thinking about Affirmations and Afformations, I like to start with one question:
Considering your choice of words on daily basis, what are you affirming in your life?
Words we use are actually extensions of our own energy and our consciousness, and they just continually keep inviting experiences into our life that are of the same frequency/value. Crap out, crap in (excuse my choice of words here). Many people still don’t have the habits of choosing their words according to what they want to experience. The most common habit out there is to REACT. And that can really backfire on us sometimes. So what can we do about that?
How can we change those bad habits of thinking ?
I hope to give you some insights about this process and tools to get things under control in my video below. Life is suppose to feel great, and it can be that way. It just takes some effort and focus on our part. The rewards are amazing, so let’s get started! (smile).

What are Affirmations?
The word “Affirmations” in New Age and New Thought terminology refers primarily to the practice of positive thinking—fostering a belief that “a positive mental attitude supported by affirmations will achieve success in anything.”More specifically an affirmation is a carefully formatted statement that should be repeated to one’s self and written down frequently. For an affirmation to be effective, it needs to be present tense, positive, personal and specific.
I see affirmations as a simple way of developing new ways of thinking that serves as a foundation to choose new way of taking action in the world, which then results in new results that we truly desire. Most people still don’t have the habit of choosing their thoughts and the price we get to pay for our mind not being trained this way is way too high.
What do you affirm in your life?
Its is important that what every word we say is affirming something in our life – happiness or stress, abundance or poverty…. I used the example of shopping for words when we have a specific goal in mind. Do you shop or do you blindly walk around the ” Life market” and put whatever you bump into in right in your basket?

The Best resource for learning about affirmations and how to effectively use them is Louise Hay and her books. Louise L. Hay is a known as one of the founders of the self-help movement. Her first book, Heal Your Body, was published in 1976, long before it was fashionable to discuss the connection between the mind and body. Revised and expanded in 1988, this best-selling book introduced Louise’s concepts to people in 33 different countries and has been translated into 25 languages throughout the world. Through Louise’s healing techniques and positive philosophy, millions have learned how to create more of what they want in their lives, including more wellness in their bodies, minds, and spirits.
She is one of my favorite resources to keep learning about who I am as a person and a spirit and to to became aware of how I create my reality every day. I can’t recommend her books enough or express my appreciation for her outstanding work she has done so far.
What are Your Mantras?
In the video above I mentioned the concept of mantras /sayings we throw around unconsciously sometimes not realizing that these are our affirmations that are ” really working now” like:
- Things never come easy for me.
- I have never been one of those lucky people.
- People are annoying and unreliable. I always have to do everything my self.
- I have always had a slow metabolism. My body will never change.
- And many more like Money Doesn’t grow on trees…..
Take a few minutes and write down what habits of responding to life do you have and whether you want to affirm these things in your life. It’s really worth the effort, I promise you. You may be very surprised about what you will find.
