To ensure your results, we decided to write a short article to help you avoid the common mistakes many people make during the Master Cleanse.
Here are 5 tips on how to make the Master Cleanse Lemonade right:
Tip # 1 – How to store your lemons
Store your lemons on the counter to ripen, NOT in the fridge. Enzymes are dormant in the fridge. You want those enzymes. Take the 10 most ripe lemons out for your first day or two.
This is a simple mistake to make but it can be very costly and have a big impact on the detoxing process that is taking place during the Master Cleanse. The Fresh Lemon Juice is the MOST CRITICAL component of this powerful lemonade detox diet. If you don’t drink your Lemon Juice Fresh, you will not be getting the vital enzymes that lose vitality over time, and exposure to light and air.
Tip # 2 – Use the best quality of water you can find/afford
The quality of water consumed during the Cleanse is extremely important. The quality of your water during the Master Cleanse is the key to great results.You probably know that your body uses water to flush and transport toxins to the organs of elimination ( The colon, bladder, lungs, skin and so on…) to discharge them. Latest scientific research shows that many health problems can be significantly improved, or completely eliminated, with just an adequate consumption of good water.
We recommend 3 ways to ensure your water is pure and appropriate for the Master Cleanse:
- Check your local health-food store for Purified Bottled Water.
- Install good Water Filter for your tap water.
- You can also use Water Ionizer.
Can I use distilled water?
Tip # 3 – Make each glass of lemonade fresh
By that we mean, make one glass at the time if possible and always use freshly squeezed lemon juice. After you juiced your lemons, add the rest of the lemonade ingredients into the glass, mix immediately and drink. I like to drink the glass quickly because it seems to hit my hunger spot quickly. I usually only drink when I need to, and when enough time has passed to allow for a nice spread over the day as I try to manage my daily quota.
Quick tip: Don’t wait till you are thirsty. That is the final sign of your body telling you that it is dehydrated. Keep to drinking at least 8 glasses of lemonade a day (from my experience) and more if you are working out, have to be very active or doing the cleanse in summer time (when we naturally need to drink more water).
How do I take my Master Cleanse to go and make sure it is fresh each time?
I know that making the lemonade fresh presents a challenge if you are going to work every day or just have to take your Master Cleanse lemonade on the road with you at times. Tip # 4 – What to do if the lemonade is too spicy

Drink your lemonade as soon as you can after you made it (5-10 minutes after it was made). If you allow the lemonade to sit with the Cayenne pepper in it for too long as it will steep (just like a tea). The lemonade will get too spicy and that may prevent you from drinking enough lemonade during the day.
You can also use Cayenne pepper capsules that you can just swallow with each glass of lemonade and avoid the immediate spicy taste of the cayenne pepper and still get all the benefits.
Tip # 5 -The Lemonade Diet Concentrate – the most common mistake
Previously mentioned on this website was my preference to drink Pre-mix Lemonade. I now understand a critical flaw to this plan. The longer your Lemonade sits, the more enzymes die. The solution to this problem is to make your Master Cleanse concentrate that you can use for making fresh lemonade by adding water and the cayenne pepper as you go.

If you need to Pre-mix your Lemonade, then you should only mix a concentrate of just 2 ingredients :
- The Fresh Lemon Juice
- And the Rich Maple Syrup.
Lemonade Diet Day 1
I started off my morning with the SWF, but the only problem I had was making a bowl movement. It was hard to get down I kept gagging it back up, I drank a good amount & left about less than 2 oz of salt water. Right after I started having stomach pains, am I doing this right?
That happened to me too. You just have to get it down, it’ll be hard the first 3 days but I’m on my 5th day and it doesn’t bother me anymore. What motivate me to get it down fast is what happens afterward. I’m surprised by what comes out after the SWF. I’m on my 5th day and there’s still stuff, so I know it’s helping and needed. Good luck.
I started the cleanse today, I was exprcting the taste of the lemonade to be horrible, but it isn’t bad at all. I was wondering though, I made te 60 oz drink (premade) so I could just be serving myself throughout the day but now that I read this, I don’t know if that was a good idea. Since I pre-made it will all the ingredients, will that affect my results? Should I just stick with making once glass at a time?

I am not an old-time cleanser, (I am on my 6th day of lemonade diet for the first time) but from I have read so far, the fresher the better. When the lemonade waits around, the enzymes contained in the lemon will be inactive (but I don’t know how long that takes). But don’t worry, it does’ t mean that all what you have done so far will affect much the end result. Maybe in the future if you want to save time you can premix the syrup and the lemon juice (without any water or pepper), as the syrup will act as a preservative for the enzymes in the lemon (put it in the fridge). When you want to have your lemonade, just add 4 volumes of water for one volume of premix, plus the pepper. And if you have time, then yes, do one lemon at a time. Anyway this is how I understood it! Hope it helps! And if I have something to add, is to drink more of it than you think you need, otherwise you ‘ll end up tired after a while xx good luck!!
One glass at a time only. When you go to work, make pre-made maple syrup and lemon mixture in small containers, tubberware or whatever, store in work place fridge or bring a little cooler with ice pack. Then add water and pepper when it’s time to drink.
Hi Just wanted to say I finished 21 days on cleanse and loved it. I am 48 and was having joint problems taking meds daily. When I finished diet I noticed I forgot to take any medicine but my joints stopped hurting after6 or 7 days. Well I thought great it cleared up myjoints. Web. Then eased into food .but my joints started hurting again. Wow I started thinking it was something I must be eating. Turned out I was gluten intolerant. I stoppting any gluten of all kinds ow totallNo medicine. And totally No pain or inflammation. So please watch real close What you eat after your cleanse and maybe your body will talk to you and .tell you What is hurting your body if you listen. Also I found he you add a really strong herbal tea bag to your smooth movetea such as wild Berry or palmagranet taste great and I looked forward to the ritual every am and pm
Iam almost done with day 1, I did the salt water cleanse, the herbal laxatives and only 1 liter of the lemonaid mix. I have no desire ( not even hunger) to prepare the rest of the lemonaid mix, I still have 4 more servings (1 liter) left to drink. How will this affect the cleanse results if I am having a hard time filling my quota. Iam perfectly content with my intake thus far.
I tried this diet before but I didn’t make 4 days. Now I want to try it again but I wanted to know if there was a way to get around having to mix the pepper in the drink. Could I possibly put the pepper in my mouth and then wash it down with the lemonade?
I put mine in gel capsules, makes everything much easier!

Hey, it’s pretty late., but you can buy capsules, cayenne capsules just like vitamins from a health/vitamin shop. Thought the years I read of people that do this instead of putting it in the lemonade. Also, people take things like that or for example cinnamon capsules since they are know to burn fat.
Day 2 Hunger hasn’t been TOOO bad today as long as I don’t smell anything tasty. (lunch time at work was tough) but I’m definitely digging regaining some control over my eating habits I realize how much of a slaave I was too impulses that would go away in 15 min anyway.
Can fresh grapefruit juice be substituted for lemon juice? Texas has some sweet pink grapefruits right now and they cost less than lemons.

This is my first time doing the lemonade diet but I pre-mixed my lemonade for two days is that bad?
Day 1, started with SWF and the release was minimal, then made my days worth of lemonade, but when the kids came home I grabbed snack food (peanut butter, rice cakes, etc.) with them : (
Yes in the past I was a successful 3 day cleanser when the kids were at their dads, but this is my 1st attempt to 10 days :/ I just had some tea and hope tomorrow will overcome the temptations and a success!
How about gum? And has anyone used the organic pre made package called “VitaCleanse”?
